TAX HOMESTEAD LANDS.

This land was originally intended to be held for homestead only, and is a class of land created from delinquent tax land held for more than five years by the auditor general, and under the law then deeded to the state by the auditor general and transferred to the commissioner of the state land office to be disposed of by him. Under amendments to the law these lands are now withdrawn from homestead entry and are appraised and placed in market to be sold. They can be purchased only upon payment of the full amount of the purchase price, such payment to be made when the ap- plication is filed with the commissioner of the state land office.
FORFEITED LANDS.
SEC. 7. The price of forfeited part-paid lands, now held by the state, is the original minimum price per acre and all improvements and unpaid taxes added thereto.
APPLICATIONS.
SEC. 8. No lands can be withheld from market for the benefit of purchasers until the purchase price is received at this office, and all deposits to purchase on part pay- ment must be accompanied with an acceptable affidavit as required by law. Deeds or patents to state lands will not be issued to any party and sent to any bank or other collecting office to be delivered to the purchaser upon his payment at such office of the purchase price.
SEC. 9. An act of the legislature of 1909 now requires that when sales of any class of land are made, a clause must be inserted in each deed or patent, reserving to the state of Michigan all mineral, coal, oil and gas found on the land so disposed of, together with the right of ingress or egress at all times over and across all lands that border upon any watercourse or stream, and all parties desiring to purchase must sign applications containing these reservations and an agreement on the part of the purchaser to accept deeds containing these reservation clauses and to abide by the same at all times. Blank forms for applications will be furnished upon application to this office.
SEC. 10. For information as to government or railroad land apply to the United States land office, at Marquette, upper peninsula, as this office has no record of such lands entered or unentered.
SENDING MONEY.
