PO

Twenty - One Years' Experience

Has more than vindicated the wisdom of the General Confer- ence of 1896 in ordering the organization of this company.

The full service that has been rendered to world-wide Method- ism could not possibly be indicated in figures, although the tangible results are most gratifying.

Probably more than one-third of all of our churches in this country were without any insurance prior to the organization 'of the National Mutual Church Insurance Company. There is always a tempta- tion to neglect insurance when there is difficulty about raising money enough for claims that are more immediately pressing and in many cases it did not seem possible to those in charge of the local work to meet the high charges of the stock companies, and in those days there was no organization to keep persistently calling attention to the worse than foolish short-sightedness of allowing any claim to cause postponement of insurance for a single day. "The first duty is to protect the property .. even before the building is completed, which the faithful members had made sacrifices to erect, and to keep it insured every moment there- after. . The day has gone, thanks to this organization, when the hat can be passed around for funds for rebuilding an uninsured church or parson- age without attention being publicly called to the incapacity and neglect "of those whom the members had a right to expect would protect their interests."If the trusteeship were for secular property the courts could, and probably would, compel those who had permitted the loss to make it good personally. This principle should appeal even more certainly when the property is of a sacred character.

When uninsured church property is destroyed an injury is done to the work of Methodism that reaches to the farthest corners of the world, for funds which would otherwise be available for paying mission- airies, building churches, supporting worn-out preachers and doing all the other splendid things that characterize our church, must be diverted to restoring buildings that insurance money would have largely taken care of. LET THE CENTENARY YEAR MARK AN END OF, SUCH NEGLECT! Insurance at ACTUAL COST paid for in easy annual installments. NO ASSESSMENTS. Policies protected by the same cash reserve required by law of stock companies.

Fiftieth Year of National Service

Welch's Tounde: 11869

Welch's "THE NATIONAL DRINK"

Founded on the principle of national welfare, Welch's has been growing in service and popularity for more than 50 years. First prepared for sacramental purposes, then prescribed by physicians for its healthfulness, and finally adopted by all the people as a delightful beverage, it is truly "The National Drink". "Now as always, Welch's is just the pure, unfermented juice of ripe Concord grapes, pressed fresh and sealed in glass.

Grapelade

"A pure grape spread"

A new member of the Welch family, and fully worthy of the Welch name.' It is made from whole, ripe grapes, without seeds, skins or acid crystals. Its fresh grape flavor is delightful." As a spread for bread, biscuits, muffins, toast; for making tarts, jelly-roll and other pastry; for ice cream and sundaes, Grapelade is equally fine.

Write for Welch Ways, a Book of 99 recipea for using Welch's, and we'll also send a new collection of recipes for Welch's Grapelade.
