INTRODUCTION
We, the Mecklenburg County Daughters of the American Revolution Chapters, Alexandriana, Gen. Robert Irwin and Jane Parks McDowell, have listed herein names of people buried in family plots and former church cemeteries, many of whom we be- lieve to have been hitherto unlisted. We present this bookiet with the sincere wish that it will a- waken an interest in old cemeteries, and especially in their care and restoration. It is appalling to see the broken and fallen stones and unkept con- dition of some of these old graves of the people who helped in the founding of Mecklenburg County.
It is our desire to reset these fallen stones and give to these graves the care they deserve.
For further information contact Mrs. J. R. Miller, Pineville, N. C. or Mrs. R. E. McDowell, Route 2, Charlotte, N. C.
