It does a large business but is equipped for more. It doesn't charge the biggest interest rate, but sufficient to get along.
It's officers are not always "Peaches and Cream" but pleasant enough for a day. They may not always think as you do, but make it a rule to treat you honestly.
They will urge and implore you to do business with them, but will treat you the same if you do not.

Fayetteville, North Carolina
F AYETTEVILLE, N. C., the county seat of Cumberland County, is situated on the main line of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, 554 miles south of New York and 327 miles south of Washing- otn, on the famous Coastal Plain, being about 120 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to the main line of the Atlantic Coast Line, Fayetteville is served by the following railroad lines, with their connections :
The Atlantic & Yadkin Branch of the A. C. L., from Wilmington to Sanford where it connects with the Southern Railroad for points in Western North Carolina.
The Bennettsville Branch of the A. C. L., from Fayetteville to Bennettsville, S. C., traversing a wonderful agricultural section, and affording a connection with the Seaboard Air Line at Maxton, N. C.
The Norfolk-Southern Railroad, from Fayetteivlle to Raleigh, affording connections with the Southern, the main line of the Sea- board and the Durham & Southern Railroads.
The Aberdeen & Rockfish Railroad, from Fayetteville to Aber- deen, a practically new road opening up a wonderfully productive agricultural section, connecting with the main line of the S. A. L., and affording connections for the famous resorts of Pinehurst and Southern Pines.
The United States Government is spending $1,500,000 locking the Cape Fear River, on which this favored city is situated, which will give a minimum depth of eight feet from Fayetteville to Wilmington the year round. The first set of locks and dams is nearing comple- tion, the second set will be completed about the midsummer of 1916 This stream has formerly carried a heavy traffic in freights, but with the additional boating facilities guaranteed, this river traffic is ex- pected to grow to enormous proportions within a short time. The advantage of bringing heavy freights 140 miles inland at low water rates, to be easily distributed by rail, can easily be seen.
Fayetteville is located in the very heart of the most productive agricultural section in the State of North Carolina. Here all crops
grow and mature equally well. Cotton is the principal crop (Fayette- ville is the largest inland cotton market in the State), but tobacco is rapidly making a bid for a part of the laurels of the "Cotton King." The shipping of cantaloupes, watermelons, string beans, English peas and green corn is a large and growing industry. Fayetteville melons commanding the highest prices on the Northern and Western markets, which are easily reached by refrigerator freights. Corn, oats, wheat, and rye are other staple erops. Alfalfa and clover crops, while com- paratively new to the farmers of the section, are fast becoming estab- lished industries. The truck crops, particularly peaches, beans, let- tuce, onions, asparagus, and other vegetables are very fine.
Health and climatic conditions are here all that could be desired, drainage being perfect and the average yearly temperature being sixty-four degrees. Churches of all denominations, a splendid system of graded and high schools, a cultured and refined people, make of this an ideal home town.
In this city are located five large cotton mills and the largest silk mills in the South. These silk mills are owned by Northen capital and employ only negro labor. Twelve hundred negroes are employed in these silk mills and the mills are highly successful.
Electric power in any quantity may be had at reasonable rates. Desirable lands can be had at reasonable prices and the land and home seeker, looking for the combination which makes for health, happiness, and prosperity, will find here opportunity in abundance and a welcome cordial and sincere.
Much depends upon surroundings. Health, happiness, and pros- perity often may be obtained by the right move. Nature is your best banker and backer in Cumberland County, North Carolina. Cum- berland County's natural conditions will assist you in obtaining the desired results. Come where the sun shines and the rain falls in sca- son ; where the surroundings are congenial; no destructive storms, extreme heat, cold or killing frosts, and where intelligent farming completos the chain, making it only a matter of how well a man does his part. It will be only goood business judgment for the Northern farmer seeking a location in the South to take advantage of the natural advantages offered in Cumberland County.
If further information is desired, write to the Chamber of Com- merce, Fayetteville, N. C., and same will be cheerfully furnished you.
