The annual pay-roll from the more than 250 manufacturing and industrial plants is over $19,000,000.00. Charlotte has three large cotton oil com- panies operating. 11 mills with an annual output of over $10,000,000.00. The Charlotte branch of the Ford Motor Company, which cost to build $2,000,000.00, has a daily capacity of 400 cars. The Interstate Milling Company has a daily output of 1,100 barrels ot flour, the largest in the State. The Charlotte Wagon and Anto Company is the largest and best equipped plant for the manufacture of commercial truck bodies, painting and repairing in the South. Charlotte is the center of the great textile manufacturing in- dustry in the South. Scores of big textile manufacturing plants are located in the city or within a few miles radius. CHARLOTTE'S CLIMATE-
Charlotte is located on the celebrated Piedmont Plateau with its healthful and in- vigorating all-year moderate temperatures, low relative humidity, and almost total ah- sence of snow and ice. According to the official record of the local United States Weather Station covering a period of 44 years, the average year-round temperature is 60.0 degrees. Extremely high summer temperature or very low winter temperaturcs are practically unknown
