To speed up the distribution and delivery of the mails, Charlotte has adopted the NUMERICAL ZONING SYSTEM. The streets listed alphabetically with the unit number for each street (or portion of it) are shown on the follow- ing pages. Unit numbers for box service are listed separately. Unit numbers should be included as a part of the complete address of all mail and the number should appear after the name of the city and before the name of the state.
All users of the mails are urged by the Post Office Department to cooperate in this effort by including the unit number in all local addresses as well as inform correspondentsof this addition to their own official address, and to have their postal unit number on their letterheads, envelopes, statements, and all advertising matter. The Post Office on request, will be glad to cooperate with you in assigning proper unit numbers to your mailing lists.
