J. S. MORRISON, Selectmen JOHN SMITH, of

C. H. MARSTON, - Bridgewater.

AUDITORS' REPORT.

We hereby certify that we have examined the forego- ing accounts of the selectmen and treasurer, and find them correctly cast and properly vouched. The treasurer for 1891 declined to submit his accounts, but has partially rectified an apparent error of last year, but we think the record of the selectmen and the receipt-book show a bal- ance of $14.32 unaccounted for.

H. W. TILTON, D. B. CLEMENT,

Auditors.

REPORT OF THE SCHOOL BOARD.

To the citizens of the town of Bridgewater :

In making our annual report, we will say that we are pleased with the result of the work of the year in the schools. The teachers have all tried to teach the scholars what they could and have suceeded well. The success or failure of a school depends greatly upon the influence at home. Send well trained scholars to school and the teacher has good, teachable pupils. While a teacher is talking to a disobedient pupil the attention of all the rest of the schol- ors is drawn from their books, but we are pleased to say that not much of this has had to be done. We are also pleased to find so many names upon the Roll of Honor.

The number of scholars between the age of five and fif- teen as reported by the Selectmen is fifty-eight ; twenty- two boys and thirty-six girls.

We extend our thanks to parents, teacher and scholars, who have kindly assisted us in any way while in the dis- charge of our official duties.

CHARLES L. BARNARD, School Board ARZELLA W. SMITH, of

ADDIE C. WOODMAN, Bridgewater.
