REPORT OF PRECINCT COMMISSIONERS


We, the precinct commissioners of the town of Alton submit the following report :


The number of lights on January 31, 1920, was 99 We were asked to extend the line from the house occupied by Clarence Horne to the Gilmanton road, which was done by adding two (2) lights. Three (3) other lights were added during the summer, one at Alton Bay, near residence of G. E. Hurd, one opposite Lafayette Wood man property, and one near Ayer's garage.


On December 1, two (2) lights were connected up on East side of lake, as Mr. Lynch had located there as a permanent resident and was entitled to them.


Total number of lights January 31, 1921, 10€


There are seven (7) lights on East side of lak( which are used for six (6) months out of the year.


The precinet meeting will be held on Saturday March 12, at 2 p. m.

ANNUAL REPORT OF THE TOWN OF ALTON


WARRANT FOR TOWN MEETING


MARCH 14th, 1922


STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE


To the inhabitants of the town of Alton, in the County of Belknap, in said State, qualified to vote in town affairs :


You are hereby notified to meet at the town house in said Alton on Tuesday, the fourteenth day of March next. at nine o'clock in the forenoon, to act upon the fol- lowing subjects :


Article 1. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise to pay all necessary charges of the town for the year ensuing.


Article 2. To see if the town will vote to raise $786.00, the amount of money necessary to secure trunk line or state aid for the permanent improvement of the highways, agreeable to Chapter 93, Laws of 1915.


Article 3. To see if the town will vote to raise $2,035.00. the amount of money necessary to secure trunk line and state aid maintenance for the care of the high- ways, agreeable to Chapter 133, Laws of 1911.


Article 4. To see if the town will vote to accept the provisions of Chapter 117, Laws of 1917, on a section of the Winnipesaukee and Suncook Valley Roads. so called, and appropriate, or set aside from the amount raised for highway work the sum of $1,100.00 for this purpose.

Article 5. To see if the town will vote to raise and ap- propriate the sum of $2,500.00 each year for a period of three years, and instruct the selectmen to hire such sums of money as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of Chapter 163, Laws of 1917, on a section of the Winnipesaukee Road, so called.


Article 6. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise for the repair of highways and bridges for the year ensuing, in addition to that required to be raised by law.


Article 7. To see if the town will vote to authorize the selectmen to borrow necessary moneys in anticipation of taxes.


Article S. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise for the construction of sidewalks.


Article 9. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise for the decoration of soldiers' graves.


Article 10. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise for the maintenance of the public library, in addition to that required by law.


Article 11. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise or appropriate for the purpose of hold- ing a fruit, vegetable and poultry show, also to elect a committee to arrange and lay out the same.


Article 12. To see if the town will vote to raise and ap- propriate the sum of $400.00 to be expended under state supervision for the control of the White Pine Blister Rust.


Article 13. To see what sum of money the town will vote to pay per man and per pair of horses, for labor on the highways, on a nine hour basis.

Article 14. To see if the town will vote to raise a sum of money to be laid out on the Woodlands road from the highway to Dr. C. O. Hood's camp. The same to be used in conjunction with a sum subscribed by the property owners and to make any necessary ar- rangements with relation to the same. (By request).


Article 15. To see what sum of money the town will vote to raise and appropriate for band concerts and appoint a committee to expend the same. N


Article 16. To hear the reports of agents, auditors, committees, or officers heretofore chosen, and pass any vote relating thereto.


Article 17. To choose all necessary town officers for the ensuing year and to elect one selectman for three years.
