SOLICITOR'S REPORT.

To the Honorable Board of Commissioners of Hillsborough County :-

GENTLEMEN :- I herewith submit my report as County Solici- tor for the year ending May 1, 1886. During this time I have received no money belonging to the county, nor have I since I have been solicitor. In the past year there has been no civil case. pending in which the county was a party except suits for the re- covery of the amounts due the county on forfeited recognizances. There were seven of these and the county has recovered judg- ment in all of these except one which was brought by mistake“. and was dismissed.

At the beginning of the year there were fifteen continued cases" on the criminal docket in this county. To this number there have been added by indictments one hundred and fifty-six cases, and by appeals from police and justice courts twenty-nine cases more, making in all two hundred criminal cases upon the dock- et in this county during the past year.

These two huudred cases have been disposed of by trial and otherwise with the exception of about fifteen cases which will be continued at the end of this term. I am unable to give the- exact number of continued cases at this term for the reason that the March term of the Supreme Court in this county is still in session and the docket is not yet closed.
