35
DISTRICT NO. 12.
As there were only three scholars in the spring and two for the fall and winter terms, arrangements were made to send them to the Woodstock school.
In reviewing the work of the year, for the most part the schools have been satisfactory.
We have introduced the Harmonic Reader, which has met with great success. We wish to express our appreciation of the work our teachers have done.
We would suggest that the parents visit the schools each month. In this way they would know the work their child is doing.
The school district is required by law to raise for schools, $585 .00, the same amount as last year. In order to obtain state aid the district must raise by tax- ation a total of $1,293.93.
Respectfully submitted, FRANK A. BARNARD, ANNIE S. FADDEN, ANNA K. DOBSON,
School Board of Thornton.

In looking over the work of the year, for the most part, schools have been quite satisfactory. The per- fect attendance would have been larger if it had not been for sickness. We would like parents to visit the schools more often. It would encourage both pupils and teacher, and by doing so they would know just how their children were advancing.
The school district is required by law to raise for schools $517 50. In order to obtain state aid the dis- trict must raise by taxation a total of $1,203.06.
Respectfully submitted, ANNIE S. FADDEN ANNA K. DOBSON, FRANK A. BARNARD, School Board of Thornton.
