[ When baptism has been administered, the Pastor will then say : ]
Attend now to the covenants into which you are to enter with God. and this church.
COVENANT.
You who now present yourselves to be received into our fellowship, do by this act avow your personal sense of the love of God in the forgiveness of your sins ; and, trusting that He who hears and answers prayer will uphold and strengthen you, you do give your- selves to the Lord Jesus Christ, and covenant to be his disciples, re- ceiving him as your only Priest and Propitiation, your great Teacher, Law-Giver and King. You dedicate yourselves to God as the object of your highest love, and to his service as your highest joy, engaging to walk with us in the due observance of Christian ordinances, and that by the aid of the Divine Spirit you will honor your profession by a consistent Christian life.
Do you thus covenant with God and the church ?
15
ADMISSION OF MEMBERS.
[At this point those who unite by letter from other churches will rise as their names are called, and be addressed as follows : ]*
Having already confessed Christ publicly and entered into covenant relations with his people, you do now reassert your faith in Him. and assent to the declaration of faith of this church ; and in connecting yourselves [yourself ] with this church transfer to it your covenant obligations.
[Here the members of the church will stand up, and the Pastor will read the following : ]
RESPONSE OF THE CHURCH.
We, then, the members of this church, in view of these your pro- fessions and engagements, do joyfully and affectionately receive you to this communion, and welcome you to this fellowship with us in the blessings of the gospel and in the service of our Divine Redeemer. We covenant to love and watch over you, and in Christian fidelity to seek your advancement in the life and likeness of Him whose name we bear.
And now, beloved of the Lord, let it be impressed upon your minds that you have entered into solemn engagements from which you can never escape. Wherever you go, these vows will be upon you. They will follow you to the bar of God, and abide upon you to eternity. May you walk worthy of God and your profession. May the Lord guide and preserve you till death, and at last receive you and us to that blessed world where our love and joy shall be forever perfect.
And unto Him who is able to keep us from falling, and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God, our Saviour, be glory and majesty. dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.
[The Pastor may now give the right hand of fellowship and speak sach words of great ing as he shall choose. In case none are to unite by confession of faith, those uniting by letter will be received according to that part of the above form which is appropriate to them.]
*This address adopted Jan. 5, 1855.

BAPTISM OF CHILDREN. (ADOPTED JAN. 5, 1885.)
[Children, one or both of whose parents are members of a Christian church, may be pre- sented for baptism at any regular service of the church; and when circumstances require it, the ordinance may be administered at the home of the parents or elsewhere.]
ADDRESS TO THE PARENTS.
In presenting your child for baptism, you profess to dedicate it to God ; and you do hereby enter into covenant with God to be faithful in your parental relations. You promise to pray for and with this child, to instruct it in the doctrines and duties of our holy religion as revealed and enjoined in God's Word. You engage to set an example of godliness and piety before it, and to endeavor by all the means of God's appointment to secure its salvation.
These things you faithfully promise, relying upon divine grace to grant the regenerating influence of the Holy Spirit.
[ Assent having been given, the rite of Baptism will then be administered.]
COVENANT OF THE CHURCH.
Then doth this church [here the members of the church rise] recog- nize this your child as its own foster child, and covenant to pray for it, watch over it, and care for it in spiritual things ; and whenever, by the grace of God, it shall come to acknowledge and confirm this cov- enant, to welcome it to full communion in the ordinances of Christ's house, and in all the privileges of believers.
[ Then follows the baptismal prayer. ]
RULES. (ADOPTED JAN. 5, 1855.)
OFFICERS AND THEIR DUTIES.
1. The officers of this church shall be, in addition to the Pastor, four Deacons, four Deaconesses, a Clerk, Treasurer, Superintendent and other necessary officers of the Sunday-school, and an Executive Committee composed of the Pastor, Deacons and three other men- bers of the church ;- who shall be elected at the annual meeting, and by ballot, unless otherwise ordered. All Deacons chosen after Jan. 1, 1885, are to hold office five years. Vacancies in any of the ofli- ces of the church may be temporarily filled by the Executive Com- mittee.
2. The Pastor of this church is expected to become a member of it, and shall be, save in exceptional cases, its moderator. When there is no Pastor, or when he does not preside, the senior Deacon present shall act as moderator.

After one year's absence, unless satisfac- tory reasons for delay are given, members shall be entitled only to a certificate of their standing at the time of removal. 16. Any of the foregoing rules may be temporarily suspended In unanimous consent, but a quorum for this purpose shall consist of not less than fifteen ; and any rule may be repealed or amended at any meeting for business, by a two-thirds vote of the members pres- ent and voting, notice of the proposed change having been given from the pulpit at least two weeks previous.
