In case of fire, unlock the outside door of box, and turn knob to the right until bell strikes in the box. Wait until the department arrives and give the location of the fire. Never send in alarm ex- cept from box nearest the fire.
If an alarm from box 12, it will strike on the gong 1-2, 1-2, 1-2. If from box 13, 1-3, 1-3, 1-3, and so on.
Never let the key of a fire alarm box go out of your possession unless to some responsible person for the purpose of giving the alarm of fire. When a box has been unlocked the key cannot be re- moved until released by the proper officer.
