It will detect and indicate correctly, any change in the weather, twelve to forty eight hours in advance. It will tell what kind of a storm is approaching, and from what quarter it comes- invaluable to navigators. Farmers can plan their work according to its predictions. It will save fifty times its cost in a single season. There is an accurate Thermometer attached, which alone is worth the price of the combination. This great Weather Indicator is endorsed by the most eminent PHYSICIANS, PROFESSORS and SCIENTIFIC MEN of the day, to be the BEST IN THE WORLD. The Thermometer and Barometer are put in a nicely finished black walnut frame and inlaid deep, so nothing can strike the surface, with silver plated trimmings, etc., making it a beautiful as well as useful ornament.

ADVICE TO YOUNG MEN.

Lay it down as a foundation rule that you will be "faithful in that which is least"

Pick up the loose nails, bits of twine, clean wrapping paper, and put them in their places. Be ready to throw in an odd half hour or hour's time, when it will be an acommodation, and don't seem to make a merit of it. Do it heartily.

Though not a word be said, be sure your employer will make a note of it. Make yourself indispensible to him, and he will lose many of the opposite kind before he will part with you. Those young men who are habitually a few minutes late on commencing work, who watch the time to see the very second their working hour is up; who leave, no matter what statet he work mây be in, at precisely the instant; who calculate the extra amount they can slight their work and yet not get reproved; who are lavish of their employers goods, will always be the first to receive notice when times are dull, that their services are no longer required. Remember that you are not a slave. Then serve your employer, as, in due time he will be a friend to you.

THE WIFE'S ADVICE.

When trade grew slack and notes fell due, the merchant's face grew long and blue ; his dreams were troubled through the night with sheriffs, bailiffs, all in sight. At last his wife unto him said, "Rise up at once, get out of bed, and get your paper, ink and pen, and say these words unto all men: My goods I wish to sell to you, and to your wives and daughters too ; my prices they shall be so low, that each shall buy before they go." He did as his good wife advised, and in Kimball's Directories advertised. Crowds, came and brought of all he had, his notes were paid, his dreams made glad ; and he will tell you to this day, how well did adver- tising pay. He told us this, with a knowing wink, how he was saved by printer's ink, An other, in a place as tight, contented was the press to slight, and did not let the people know of what he had or where to go. His drafts fell due and were not paid ; a levy on his goods was made ; his store was closd until the sale, and for some time he was in jail. A bankrupt now without a cent, at leisure he does deep repent, that very foolish and unwise, he did not freely advertise in Kimball's Directories.
