Almanacs heretofore have been suited to the Dial, which in the age of antiquity, was perhaps the only instrument in use for the mensuration of time : but the present calculations are adapted to Clocks and Watches, those machines of more modern inven- tion so generally used in the present day.

VI. JUNE, begins on Tuesday, 30 days, 1841
Rule to find the length of the day- Add 12 hours to the time of the Sun's setting, and from the sum subtract the time of rising. The old Rule, which was to double the time of the Sun's set- ting is not correct when the Equal Time is reckoned.
The day will be found, throughout the year, a few minutes longer than formerly, on account of the horizontal refraction bav- ing been allowed in making calculations.
