This Company owns and controls the entire Water Power of the Mohawk River at COHOES, and has constructed one of the finest Dams and Gate Houses the country to divert the water of the river to their Canale, of which they have a set ..... so as to use the water under six different Falls, having an aggregate head and fall of one hundred and twenty feet.


The Company lease the water power with the lot. at the rate of about TWENTY IM'! LARS per annum for a HORSE POWER. The power costs less than one-third of the cus !! steam power, and is always ready and reliable.


Only about one-fourth of the available power is at present used, thus affording' s large amount of power still available for manufacturing purposes.


Cohoes being centrally located, with easy facility for Railroad, Canal and River transportation to market, makes it one of the most desirable points for manufacturing in the United States.
