E. H. HULL, Secretary.

S. N. GRISWOLD, President.

NOTE -In reply to the opposition to class teaching, we beg to state that all important musical Insti- tutions in Europe approve of and adopt the method. The class system, when applied by capable instructors has been found to possess many advantages, being particularly applicable to beginners, causing an amicable rivalry among the pupils, while the rudiments, exercises, etc., else so fatiguing to learn, lose much of their uninviting and wearisome features. Reading at sight, a qualification so necessary to every performer, it assists to a surprising degree. One of the most notable results of class teaching is its radical removal of that deplorable habit, prevalent among so many-the habit of playing out of time. It excites emulation and the ambition of the student.to excel, to become a thorough musician instead of a mere performer, and is certain of imparting self-reliance and confidence, two qualities absolutely necessary to complete success.

DESIGNED AND MADE BY NEW YORK STORE FIXTURE CO., 152 to 156 Bank Street, New York City.

Proto Enj. Di KY

Pharmacy of Adrian Paradis, 191 Fulton St., Brooklyn.

We are practical designers and cabinet makers, and have originated some of the finest features that characterize modern drug store fittings. Some of these features have been copied extensively, and are to be found in nearly every state in the union.

In an art like cabinet making, where its durability depends alike on good construction and material, and where the artistic quality should be on the same level, it is important to go where you will be sure of securing these. We do no other kind of cabinet work than store fixtures, and have a plant finely equipped with machinery for this specialty. We have an experience of sixteen years, during which we have made a close study of the requirements. We can speak authoritatively on the subject of store fixtures.

We attend to every detail of store fitting in addition to fixtures, including the floors, lighting, ceiling and wall decorations, etc.

The intelligent business man will readily see the advantage of coming to us, as we are headquarters on this specialty. We have the technical knowledge and experience, and know how to make good work at a low price. The planning is a most important part in fitting up a store. Well planned fixtures cost no more to construct than if poorly planned. A word about our Patent Medicine Cases. Sliding doors made by our system work absolutely true. The advantage as to utility is that a whole section is exposed to view and you don't have to get out of the way of the door when opening it as in the case of hinged doors. Call or write
