Incorporated by the Legislature of the State of New-York, 8th of April, 1824, Capital $200,000, for the sole purpose of LENDING MONEY on deposits of Goods and Chattels.
This Association continues to make liberal advances on all Articles of Merchandise, Plate, Watches, Jew- ellery, Trinkets, &c. in all sums from one dollar up- wards; thereby affording great facilities to Merchants, Traders, and Shopkeepers, residents of the city, and also to Strangers and Travellers, who by misfortune or accident may require present relief.
The Rates of Interest charged are fixed by Law as follows.
Loans of $ 50 and under, 15 per cent. per ann.
50 to $ 100, 12} do. 100 to 200, 10 do. 200 to 300, 9 do. 300 to 5,00, 8 do.
and above 500, 7 do.
Great care will be taken in the preservation of all Property deposited with them, which will also be kept . covered by Insurance against Fire and Burglary.
Applications for Loans may be made at the Com- pany's Office, personally or by letter ; or to either of the Directors, at their places of residence.
