From Quarantine to N Y, quarter pilot- age. Hauling into the river from the wharf, $3.


Pilotage for taking vessels from upper to lower quarantine, etc .- For vessels having had death or sickness on board, double Outward Pilotage.


For vessels from sickly ports, but hav- ing had no sickness on board, single Out- ward Pilotage.


Pilotage from New York to Perth Am- boy, and vice versa, $1.50 per foot. Pilotage from sea to Perth Amboy, two- thirds to the Bar Pilot and one-third to the Perth Amboy pilot.


Pilotage of vessels from the North River or the East River to Bayonne or Yonkers, or vice versa, $10 each way.


Pilotage from dock to anchorage in Up- per Bay or vice versa. $5 each way.


For remaining on board to dock the vessel (unless prevented by the weather) $3 per day. excluding the day of arrival. For moving any vessel from the North River, the East River, Atlantic Dock, Erie Basin, Kill von Kull, or any pier or dock in the upper bay of New York Har- bor (excepting such places as have a dif- ferent rate established for them) to an anchorage in the said upper bay, or vice versa, $5 each way, unless such moving is done on the same calendar day as the vessel enters or leaves the port.

Regulations for Carriers' Department, Stations and City Delivery.


There are seven and eight deliveries each day by carriers on the districts of Stations.


Collections are made from each and every street letter box each day. South of Harlem River from 12 to 28 times a day. North of Harlem River, from 2 to 11 times a day. There are 9 deliveries by carriers, and 27 collections are made from street letter boxes each day on General P O district.


On Sundays from 3 to 6 collections will be made. from 1.30 P. M. to 11 P. M.


Rates of Postage.


No letter will be sent from this office. to places within the United States or its Possessions, unless at least one rate of postage is prepaid by stamps.


Stamps and stamped envelopes can be procured at the offices of sale in General Post Office building (on the Bway and Park row sides), open at all times, and at all the stations.


The Domestic Postage rate for letters is 2 cents for each ounce, or fraction thereof. City letters same rate.


The Postage on foreign letters (first ounce or less) 5 cents; each additional ounce or fraction of an ounce 3 cents. Postal cards and post cards, 2 cents. Postal cards, double (with paid reply) 4 cents. Newspapers and other printed matter per 2 ounces (limit of weight 4 pounds 6 ounces), 1 cent; commercial papers (first 10 ounces or less), 5 cents ; each additional 2 ounces or fraction, 1 cent (limit of weight, 4 pounds 6 ounces). Samples of merchandise (4 ounces or less), 2 cents ; each additional 2 ounces or fraction, 1 cent. Limit of weight 12 ounces.


Postage rate on letters to Canada, Cuba. Mexico, Panama, Bahamas, New- foundland and Great Britain, 2 cents an ounce or fraction.


Advertised Letters are charged with 1 cent, in addition to the regular postage. Newspapers and periodicals, entered as second-class matter, 1 cent for each 4 ounces.


Books, seeds, plants, etc., 1 cent for each 2 ounces up to 8 ounces ; over 8 ounces at parcel post zone rates.

cent for each 2 ounces. Limit of weight, 4 pounds.


Parcel Post.


Parcels weighing 4 ounces or less, ex- cept books, seeds, plants, etc., are mail- able at the rate of one cent for each ounce or fraction of an ounce, regardless of distance. Parcels, except books, seeds, plants, etc., weighing more than 4 ounces, are mailable at the pound or zone rates, a fraction of a pound being considered a full pound.


Parcels may be insured for value up to $25 for 5 cents, or for value up to $50 for 10 cents, in addition to postage. Parcels sent C. O. D. not exceeding $100 can be sent for an extra 10 cents, which also insures the parcel.


Insured and C. O. D. parcels must be brought to the post office for mailing. Parcels weighing over four ounces must be mailed at the General Post Office, or at a lettered or local named station or branch post office, or such numbered sta- tions as have been designated to receive parcel post matter.
