Voted, that the sum of six dollars sixty-four (6.64) cents to be paid to the pound master. in the village of Bridge- Hampton, being the balance due him for building a pound in that village.


Voted, that six (6) dollars be appropriated for the use of the house in which this meeting is held.


Voted, that horses under two years old, cattle and sheep be allowed to run on the highways and common lands. Voted also, that old horses. swine and geese be allowed to run on the common lands and highways of this town. Voted, that circular. division and all other fences in this town, shall, in order to be sufficient, be equal in the judge- ment of the fence viewers to a four rail fence three feet six inches high.

town of Southampton, in the County of Suffolk. held in said town on the 25th day of May. all the said Commissioners having been duly notified to attend the said meeting for the purpose of deliberating on the subject of this order, it ap- pearing to the said Commissioners that the road in said town used as a highway leading from fourth neck to River- head, has been used as a public highway for seventy years but has not been recorded ; it is ordered by the said com- missioners that the said road be ascertained. described and entered of record. And the said Commissioners do furth- er order, that the description and course of said road be as follows : commencing at Fourth Neck, near the house of Horace Foster, and running in a northwesterly direction past the houses of Sylvester Benjamin and Sylvester Downs until it intersects the highway leading from the west end of the village of Quogne to Riverhead, and that the centre of said highway is the middle of the present wagon track. and that the said road shall be of the width of three rods. In witness whereof we have hereunto played our hands this 25th day of May, 1846.

Rogers, on the 17th day of June, all the said commissioners having been duly notified to attend the said meeting for the purpose of deliberating on the subject of this order. it appearing to the said Commis- sioners, that the road in said town. used as a highway lead- ing from Bullshead to the Water Mill, has been used as a public highway for twenty years, previous to March 21st. 1797, but has not been recorded. It is ordered by the said Commissioners, that the said road be ascertained, described and entered on record, and the said Commissioners do further order that the description, courses and distances of said road be according to a survey which they have caused to be made of the same as follows :


Commencing where it intersects the road from the south part of Mecox to Sag-Harbor, thence running parallel to the said line of survey being north two and a-half rods, said survey being the south line of said road. Commencing where the west line of the road from Mecox to Bull's Head intersects the line of the fences in front of Alanson Top- ping's house and running south 72.30 W. to a stone sunk in the ground a little east of Wm. At a meeting of the Commissioners of the Town of Southampton, in the County of Suffolk, held in the said town, at the house of Albert Rogers, on the eleventh day of July, all the said commissioners having been duly notified to attend the said meeting for the purpose of delib- erating on the subject of this order, it appearing to the said Commissioners that the road in said town used as a high- way leading from the highway running cast of Capt. Her- rick's house to Jeffrey's Creek, has been laid out but not sufficiently described of record, it is ordered by the said Commissioners that the said road be ascertained, described, and entered of record, and the said Commissioners do furth- er order, that the description, courses and distances of said road be according to a survey which they have caused to be made of the same as follows :


Commenced at a stake 18 inches cast of the S. W. corner of Anstin Herrick's lot as the fence now stands, thence run- ning S. 36 deg. 15 min. East, till it intersects the road from the church, running N. past said Herrick's on the east and thence from said stake N. 36 deg. 15 min. W. 17.32 rods, to a stake near the S. W. corner of Agee Halsey's lot, thence N. 42 deg. 15 min. W. 73.4 rods touching the ditch of the

Resolved, that the Overseers of the Poor of the Town pay to Dr. John L. Gardiner, $47.75 for his bill for medical services, rendered the family of Sineas Miller, late of this town deceased, it satisfactorily appearing that the said Miller died insolvent and a town pauper.


Resolved, that if any pauper living at the poor house. leave it without permission of the Overseers, they are in- structed (at their discretion) to withhold further aid to such pauper.


Resolvdd, that no cattle, horses, or sheep be allowed to run on the highways or common lands of this town.
