Medical College of Buffalo .- The University of Buffalo was chartered during the legisla- tive session of 1846, and endowed with all the powers and privileges which belong to any College or University in the State. The Med- ical Department was established and organized in August of the same year. The lectures commence on the first Wednesday in Novem- ber, and continue sixteen weeks. A prelimi- nary term commences four weeks before the regular term, which is devoted to dissection, clinical instruction, and lectures on special subjects. The preliminary term is voluntary and gratuitous.

Buffalo Medical Association. - Organized July 16, 1845; incorporated April 1, 1856. This Association meets regularly on the first Tuesday evening of each month, at its rooms, No. 7 South Division street. The ohjects of the Association are strictly of a scientific char- acter. The membership is confined to those who are in regular membership with the Medi- cal Society of the County of Erie. Initiation fee, $2. Annual dues, $3.
