CARTER'S COMBINED WRITING AND COPYING
MANUFACTURERS AND PROPRIETORS :
CARTER BROS. & CO., J. P. DINSMORE, 36 Dey Street, New York.
27 Milk Street, Boston.
Ten years constant use by many of the largest Banking Institutions and Commercial Houses in this Country, has established the superiority of this Ink beyond question.
A SILVER MEDAL
was awarded at the Mechanics' Fair, in New York ; and it has received the HIGH- EST PREMIUM over all others from Scientific Institutions in other cities.
THE ADVANTAGES OF THIS OVER 'OTHER INKS ARE :
1st. Being equally good for Book-keeping, ordinary Writing or Copying, it does away entirely with the inconvenience of using two kinds of Ink.
2d. It flows from the pen as freely as any writing fluid.
3d. It gives a cleaner, better copy, with less spreading than the best "Copying Ink.”
4th. It is permanent, and cannot be erased even with acids.
5th. It does not fade, but grows blacker with age.
6th. It cannot mould, and consequently there is no waste.
7th. It does not thicken by exposure to the air.
8th. It will stand freezing without injury, and may be reduced with water with- out precipitation.
9th. The color, when first used, is a beautiful dark green, but changes in a very short time to a BRILLIANT JET BLACK.
10th. It is cheaper than any other ink, because a dollar's worth will do more writing.
11th. It is admirably adapted to the most delicate writing, and always "makes its mark."
12th. It is warranted to Flow as FREELY as any Writing Fluid in use ; to give as PERFECT A COPY as any Copying Ink, and NOT to THICKEN or MOULD. .
CAUTION. CARTER'S COMBINED WRITING AND COPYING INK is put
up in Glass Bottles, with a Red Label, and the name "CAR- TER'S INK," blown in the glass. To prevent Swindlers from re-filling genuine bot- tles and selling it for CARTER'S we now put a Protection Label over the cork of the Quarts and Pints, which, if not broken, is a guarantee that the contents are genuine.
The utmost care is used in selecting the very best materials for all departments of the manufacture ; and the proprietors pledge themselves that no trouble or expense shall be spared to keep up the quality, and to make it a PERFECT INK.
If further evidence is wanted, we would suggest A TRIAL; and if not satisfactory, THE MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED.

NORTH AMERICA (MUTUAL) LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY, 17 & 19 Warren Street, N. Y. N. D. MORGAN, President.
To those desiring to solicit and work for a Company, where combination of strong and useful features are in force, we present the following :
Ist REGISTRY .- This Company issues New York State Registered Policies secured by pledge of Public Stocks, like the circulation of National Banks.
This makes every Registered Policy secure to the holder as a National Bank Note or United States Bond. Superintendent BARNES says, in his Report for 1869 :- So far as the question of security is concerned, a Policy duly registered in this Department, is probably the safest Life Insurance Policy that can be issued by a corporation.
See Regular Bulletin of Registered Policy Account in every Tuesday's New York Tribune.
ALL POLICIES REGISTERED IN THE INSURANCE DEPARTMENT FREE OF COST.
2d MUTUALITY. The Company is PURELY MUTUAL, an order authorizing the retirement of the Capital Stock having been granted July, 1869. After January, 1870, all the profits will be divided among the Policy-Holders, after the NEW PLAN OF CONTRIBUTION originated by this Company.
3d NON-FORFEITURE .- ALL OUR LIFE AND ENDOWMENT POLICIES ARE NON-FOREFITABLE after two or three annual Premiums have been paid, thus securing to your heirs the value of every dollar invested, whether you can continue your policy or not.
4th, NON-RESTRICTION .- No Restriction on Travel in the United States or any part of North America, north of the Southern Cape of Florida, or in Europe at any season of the year.
5th. GRACE IN PAYMENT OF PREMIUMS .- Thirty days' grace allowed on any renewal payment, and the Policy held good.
6th. CASH PREMIUMS AND CASH RETURNS OF SURPLUS, or in addition to Policies.
We want some active, responsible men for Agents, who are willing to work for a reasonable commission.
