TO THE
INHABITANTS
OF THE
CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, SOUTHWARK AND NORTHERN-LIBERTIES.
THE advantage derived by Citizens, as well as Strangers, from Numbers being placed on the Houfes, is obvious ;- But, from the rapid increafe of buildings thefe few years paft, many of the Num- bers are wanting, whilft others are repeated in the fame ftreet. The Subfcriber, anxious to remove this difficulty (and intending to publish a Directory for the enfuing year) offers to put on thofe that are wanting, and remove thofe wrong, placing proper ones in their stead, at Ten Cents each.
July Ist, 1801.
JAMES ROBINSON, No. 46, Spruce-ftreet.
WE the undersigned, the MAYOR and COMMIS- SIONERS of the City of Philadelphia, Southwark and Northern Liberties, do approve of the foregoing Plan, believing it to be of general utility ; and hope, he will meet with such general encouragement as will enable him to prosecute the same.
