PATENT

KITCHEN RANGE.

OLMSTED PATENT STOVES,

MANUFACTURED AND FOR SALE, Wholesale and Retail, by SAMUEL LLOYD, AT THE GIRARD BUILDINGS, 406 MARKET STREET, PHILADELPHIA.

It is very satisfactory to the proprietor that after a lapse of six years since the intro- duction of the above Stoves, that they still hold a decided superiority over all others in the estimation of the public. Scarcely a day passes during the cold season of the year but that some person calls at the manufactory to bear testimony to the excellency of this apparatus, as fully sustaining all that has been said or written in its favour, as being an economical and successful mode of heating apartments.

The objects aimed at in the construction of this Stove are-to be simple, so that it can be easily managed, to be quickly kindled, to be capable of affording a mild or intense heat according to the state of the weather, to preserve the air of the apartment pure and wholesome, to avoid all inconveniences from dust; and finally, to be cheap, durable, and economical in the use of fuel. How far this apparatus fulfils these conditions, may be inferred from the following certificate and recommendation.

From Alexander Henry, Esq., 254 Arch Street,-The subscriber has used Olmsted's Stove all last winter in his hall, breakfast-room, and chamber. Before he made the purchase he was favourably impressed in relation to their use. On trial, however, he found them to far exceed his expectations. They are easily managed, economical, and give out no dust.

CHURCH BELL.

After an experience of thirteen years in the manufacture of Mineral Water Appara- tuses, and preparing the Mineral Water, I am enabled to offer to the public a new and complete apparatus for the making of Mineral Waters. Also, all the necessary apparatus for the drawing of Mineral Water; some of which are of entirely new construction, and have given entire satisfaction. The uniformly increasing demand from all parts of the United States for the Mineral Pumps, is the best evidence of the superiority of them. The superior quality and manner of preparing the Mineral Water is well and favourably known to the citizens of the city and county of Philadelphia, during the number of years I have been in business, and is shown by the increasing demand for it.

Also, continues to cast to order every description of Bells, from one to ten thousand pounds weight. And having received from the Franklin Institute of Philadelphia, at their last exhibition, the highest premium for the Bell of the best tone and model, I be- lieve that the many years experience in the business, and the numerous well-known proofs of the superior tone of my bells, throughout the United States, have sufficiently established the character of them. I, therefore, with confidence offer to the public an article that cannot be excelled.

WASHINGTON HOUSE, No. 223 CHESTNUT STREET, NEXT DOOR TO THE MASONIC HALL,

PHILADELPHIA.

This splendid new HOTEL is now open for the reception of com- pany. The establishment was begun, continued, and finished, with the express design of securing to the city of Philadelphia the desideratum- a house capacious, yet commodious-public, yet private : a Hotel, where men of business might find accommodations suited to their active ha- bits; and where families might enjoy all the comforts of a private, fashionable mansion. How far the proprietor has fulfilled this object, he confidently submits to the opinion of those who may please to honour THE WASHINGTON HOUSE with a visit.

The situation is one of the most central, in the most fashionable street in this city. The Public Dining Room, and Public Parlour for Gentle- men, are on the most extensive scale. The Private Parlours for Ladies and Families, to which there is a private entrance, are furnished in the most tasteful and fashionable style. The Ladies' Dining Room, or Pri- vate Ordinary, is arranged in keeping with the Private Parlours, all of which cannot be excelled in design and finish.
