The Points are the well-known Platina points, combined with the one invented by Prof. Robert Hare, and which is approved by all Scientific Judges. They have been adopted, and placed upon the Girard College Buildings; also by the U. S. Coast Survey for Light houses ; and for Steamships.
The Committee on Science and the Arts, of the FRANKLIN INSTITUTE, report as follows :
" The Committee, therefore, in conclusion express their opinion, that in the Light- ning Rod submitted by Mr. A. C. Brown, proper attention has been paid to securing the best conditions which a lightning rod should possess; and they believe that the rod, as proposed to be constructed, may and ought to be recommended by the Frank- lin Institute, as being in a very high degree cheap, durable, and efficient.
