CHAMBERS, BRO. & CO. IRON FOUNDERS and MACHINISTS, Office, 3001 Chestnut St. PHILADELPHIA,
MANUFACTURERS OF
Olay Tempering Brick Atlachine.
Many of these Machines are in practical operation, in various parts of the United States, making from twenty-five to thirty thousand Bricks per day, of "tempered" clay, sufficiently stiff to be immediately "hacked" under the sheds. The clay is taken directly from the bank and put into the Machine, which thoroughly "tempers," or "puggs" (with water), and forms it into Bricks, with well-defined corners, and smooth, straight surfaces, at the rate of from fifty to sixty Bricks per minute, at a cost, including the feeder, engineer, and fuel, of twenty-two cents per thousand.
They may be seen in practical operation in the yards of Messrs. W. & M. Chambers, Pea Shore, near Camden, N. J. ; Messrs. Mendenhall, Way & Barnard, Hestonville, near Philadelphia, Pa. ; and Mr. J. L. McKnight, Kincora, near Bordentown, N. J. ; John M. Buist and J. & T. Gillespie, Neck, Philadelphia ; J. Pusey & Co., Washington, D. C .; Colcolough, Bains & Campbell, Milwaukee, Wis. ; H. Barns, Detroit, Mich .; Matthews, Thixton & Co., Louisville, Ky. ; J. F. Adams, Nashville, Tenn. ; and various other places.
MP The State Fair at Norristown, awarded a SILVER MEDAL for this Machine, it being a discretionary premium for ingenuity, usefulness, and merit.
M The Fair of the American Mechanics' Institute, N. Y., awarded it. a GOLD MEDAL. For further information, Machines, and Rights, address as above.
