SKETCH OF OLD INTERIOR
This is a fanciful sketch of the old interior with high pulpit on the North side flanked by two large windows; sounding board over the pulpit and clerk's or precentor's desk in front; square pews and two aisles; wood stoves with long smoke-pipes reaching out the upper windows; brick floor. About 1770-1827. A gallery was added on three sides in 1786. The above is an actual picture of the original interior of one of the old churches of the Valley.
