1841-Feb. 13, A motion was agreed to that the American Fire Company shall ascertain how much a fire bell will cost for the purpose of erecting the same on the engine house to give alarm in case of fire.

1864-Feb. 13, The citizens of this enterprising borough without making any fuss about it, sent sixteen volunteers to town last Sat. urday, who were duly accepted and placed to the credit of the town thus escaping the draft. The recruits were paid a bounty of $350.00 each, which was raised by a loan of $5,000 on the credit of the borough, anthorized by resolution of the Town Coun cil, passed 5th inst.
