Respectfully sheweth that your petitioner is an alien, a native of England
and has resided in the United States three years previous to his arriving at the age of twenty- one years, and has continued to reside therein to the time of making this application, and that he is now twenty-one years of age and upwards. He therefore prays your honors to admit him to become a citizen of the United States of America, agreeably to the Act of Congress passed the 24th of May, A. D. 1824, and he will ever pray, &c.
