Respectfully sheweth that your petitioner is an alien, a native of

Englands

and has resided in the United States three years previous to his arriving at the age of twenty- one years, and has continued to reside therein to the time of making this application, and that he is now twenty one years of age and upwards. He therefore prays your honors to admit him to become a citizen of the United States of America, agreeably to the Act of Congress passed the 24th of May, A. D. 1824, and he will ever pray, &c.
