INTRODUCTORY

By JOHN H. HARPER.

It is with a sincere sense of congratulation that we present to the people of Provo and adjacent communities this, their 1915-1916 City Directory.

Setting the pace of progress has been the forte of Provo, par- ticularly since our last issue. Led by an aggressive Commercial Club, ably and vigorously seconded by the Home Industry Associa- tion and various other civic clubs and organizations, Provo has proudly maintained her reputation in the world of commerce.

The population of Provo has steadily grown, the number of her citizens by this directory census being 10,019 as against 9,648 for our 1913-14 book-an examination of the classified business direc- tory commencing on page 247 speaks eloquently for the commercial business development of Provo, Utah's Garden City.

In this book we have endeavored to take the pace set by Provo, and give to her citizens an up-to-date, serviceable directory, care- fully indexed (pages 7-9) and otherwise containing features of the most metropolitan city.

For the support and co-operation given us in the publishing of this book, we extend to the citizens of Provo and the other towns and communities concerned our heartiest thanks, and express to them the hope of a continued progress.
