Paying Mines in Utah

It is impossible to give anything like a full list of the profitable mines in Utah. One reason for this is that on- ly a few mining companies make public statements of their operations, while the great majority refuse to make any disclosures whatever concerning their business. There is good reason to believe, however, that among the more noted mining properties in this territory the fol- lowing are either dividend payers, or are paying for their own development, or if idle have ore in quantity and character to pay if worked: PARK CITY -- Ontario, Daly, Crescent, Anchor, Woodside, Mayflower, Northland & Nevada, Apex, Alliance, Creole, Silver Key, Glencoe, Roaring Lion, Southern Tier. BIG COTTONWOOD --- Maxfield, Antelope & Prince of Wales, Queen Bess & Car- rie. LITTLE COTTONWOOD --- American Emma, Joab Lawrence, Eclipse, City of Rocks, Evergreen, Congo, Stanley, Greeley. AMERICAN FORK --- Pittsburg, Amer- ican Fork. FRISCO-Horn Silver. Talisman, Morrison Bros' property. BINGHAM --- Old Telegraph, Live Pine, So Galena, Jordan, Niagara group, Highland, Stuart No 1, Stuart No 2, Nast, York, Mary, Brooklyn, Lead, Yose- mite No. 1, Yosemite No. 2, Tiewaukee, Winnemuck, Benton, Badger, Queen, Lucky Boy, Watson Placer. TINTIC .- Eureka Hill, Bullion Beck and Champion, Centennial Eureka, Keystone, Godiva, Mormon Chief, Eagle, Governor, Mammoth group, American Eagle, Swansea, Park, Northern Spy, Tesora, Carissa, Golden Treasure, Black Dragon, Dew Drop. OPHIR-Monarch, Chloride Gem, St. Louis Company, Gray Rock, Buck Horn, Clara, Jim Fisk, Winter Quarters, Col. Wall's Property, Brooklyr., Legal Tender, Hidden Treasure, Queen of the Hills, Utah Queen, Leonora. STOCKTON -Calumet and Muscatine group, Silver King, Cather- ine, Honorine, Third Term. CAMP FLOYD .- Sparrow Hawk, Manning's Property. MARYSVALE .- Ferguson group. Besides the above there are many others in the adjoining States which are tributary to Salt Lake City.

Benevolent Societies.
