SAN JACINTO.
Is the second largest city in the county, being smaller than San Diego only. It is at the head of the great San Jacinto Val- ley, and at the foot of Mount San Jacinto, from whose sides pour down-summer and winter-torrents" of clear, cold water in quanities sufficient to irrigate every acre of land in the vast plains below. This great supply of water is being utilized by several large and wealthy companies, among which are the Hemet, the Florida and the San Jacinto Flume Company, and it will eventually be absorbed by the Irrigation District already being formed in the valley. San Jacinto is most delightfully situated. It has several fine hot sulphur springs, an excellent sanitarium, and good churches, schools, and business houses. Its business men are energetic, and many of them are wealthy. San Jacinto is 19 miles from Perris, and is the terminus of the San Jacinto branch line of the Southern California railroad. It is 117 miles from San Diego, the county seat, and 93 miles from Los Angeles.
