Mills College and Seminary
This institution has been recently incorporated as a College, and C. C. Stratton, D. D., elected President.
Seminary Course
-
This remains substantially the same, but with added facilities. Diplomas will be given completive of the Seminary Course as before.
College Curriculum
This is substantially the same as that of Wellesby College, Mass.' Pupils may choose either the Classical or Belles Lettres Course, and the Degrees will be conferred accordingly.
Special Facilities for Music
These are excellent-only the best of teachers are employed. The instruction in both Vocal and Instrumental Music is based upon the best European methods. Twenty-four pianos give ample opportunity for practice.
Modern Languages
Most excellent facilities are furnished for the successful study of the Modern Languages. These are given free of charge in the College Course. As in all other studies, the aim is to have only the best Teachers, and secure the best results.
Location and Buildings
The location is remarkable for its healthfulness as well as for its beauty. The one hundred acres of yard give ample room for outdoor exercise. Removed from the noise, excitement and temptations of town life, the pupils have the quiet so necessary to comfort as well as the highest success in study. The buildings are finely adapted to their purpose. A home-like atmosphere pervades the whole.
Character of the Institution
The founders, Dr. and Mrs. C. T. Mills, sought to secure the highest morals as well as intellectual culture. It is eminently a Chirstian School, but not Sectarian.
Simple Dress
The aim is to have the school life a happy home life, free from ostentation-hence it is especially desired that the dress be simple and warm, suitable for outdoor exercise and good, earnest work.
Expenses
The year is divided into two terms of twenty weeks each. Board, furnished room, tuition in all of the branches of the regu- lar course, per term, $165.
For circulars giving particulars address President C. C. Stratton, D. D., or Mrs. C. T. Mills, Mills Seminary P. O., Alameda Co. The railroad station is Seminary Park, on the C. P. R. R., Niles and San Leandro road, five miles from Oakland.
