A complaint having been brought before the church against our brother keuben Beman stating that he has bro ght re- proach upon the cause of Christ by profane swearing, by the excessive use ^^ ardent spirits, by contempt of the church, & by withdrawing from the communion table, the church after mature deliberation with prayer to God, proceded to examine the evidence in suppose of these charges. at the trial it was voted unanimously on each of the charges that they are proved true by proper testi- mony . word of God direct us, after the Ist & 2nd admonition to reject such an one from our communion .. have no fellowship with him. Having given the 1st & 2nd admonition, the brethren constrained by a sense of duty to God, to nis church, a to this our brother, do by our vote, exclude him from our communion till by repentance & reformation he shall be regularly restored, praying that his soul may be saved in the day of the Lord.
In obedience to Christ's command which says, If he neglect to hear the church let him be unto thee as an heathen man & publican, we now solemnly cut him off from the church, hoping that he may remember the words of Jesus which follow his command, Verily I say unto you whatsoever ye shall bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven, & whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven .
