[CONTINUED IN VOL. II.]
WAR OF THE REVOLUTION
A large percentage of Conn. men who were able-bodied and of an age to serve, saw active service in the Revolutionary War for longer or shorter periods. Complete muster rolls are unfortunately not in existence, but those which are still extant have been carefully preserved and painstakingly cop- ied and printed. For the muster rolls, the reader is referred to the pub- lications of the Conn. Historical Society, vols. 8 and 12, and to "Conn. Men in the Revolution," issued by the Adjutant General of the State. It is our plan to identify the New Haven men whose names appear on the rolls; but first, we shall identify those who lost their lives in resisting Tryon's Invasion of New Haven, and then present the names of men who died in service, drawn from unpublished sources.
(1) TRYON'S INVASION
The following were killed or died of wounds during Tryon's Invasion of New Haven, 5 July 1779.

3. BRADLEY, ENOS (1759-1779), of Derby, s. of Enos & Hannah (Pier- son); unmarried. [An Aaron Bradley, named in some accounts, has not been located by research, and perhaps Enos is intended ].
4. DORMAN, JOSEPH (1723-1779), s. of Joseph & Sarah (Lines); m 1749 Phebe Dorman, 8 children.
5. ENGLISH, BENJAMIN (1705-1779), s. of Benjamin & Rebecca (Brown); m 1735 Sarah Dayton, 5 children.

CORRECTIONS.
It is impossible to avoid error entirely in a genealogical treatise of mag- nitude. In addition to mistakes of judgment in interpreting the records, mistakes in material that contributors have furnished, and such oversights as may occur in proof-reading, there are occasional clerical errors that can only be attributed to sheer human frailty. Very few errors, however, have so far come to light, but the following corrections should be made:
Page 7, WdTI. For "North-West", read "Middle".
