Amusements.

Nine theatres, moving picture shows, Ostrich Farm, South Atlantic League Baseball and other places afford ample means of amusement for the people.

Ocean Beaches.

Pablo Beach, Atlantic Beach and Mayport are within three-quarters of an hour ride of the city. Good hotels. Fine surf-bathing. Fishing on St. Johns river and at the jetties is good. A cement and brick paved Boulevard from the City to the Beaches, 18 miles in length with a fifty mile stretch of splendid surface on the beach makes it ideal for automobiling.

The Board of Trade is the Power House of Jacksonville.

Owns its own building and property on the corner of Main and Adams Streets, valued at $150,000, with handsome auditorium, committee rooms, library of directories of principal cities of the country, telephones, etc.

Has over 1,000 members.

Has thirty-two live committees on all matters of civic and commercial de- velopment. Sends delegations to national conventions in interest of public good.

Conducts a continual publicity campaign for the upbuilding of Jacksonville, Duval County, and Florida.

Officers-1912.

Real Estate Dealers

Do you transact any business outside the corporate limits of your own city ?

Do you want to?

Do dealers in other and distant localities fail to throw business your way?

Do the laws of the different states affecting realty ever find a place in your scheme of business ?

Do you have occasion to communicate with county officers in states other than your own?

Does a client ever ask you to procure information from an out-of-the-way part of the country where you have no corres- pondent ?

Do you wish at times you had for immediate use the names and addresses of all the dealers in realty in a given city, village or locality ?

Does information touching the extent and location of the public lands in the several U. S. Land Districts ever interest you, or come handy in your business ?

If your answer to any of the foregoing questions is affirma- tive, you assuredly need a copy of POLK'S REAL ESTATE REGISTER & DIRECTORY OF THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA, a new revised edition of which has recently been issued.

SYNOPSIS OF CONTENTS

The information embraced in the Directory is compiled by states, territories and provinces and the arrangement is the same throughout- a Miscellaneous Department followed by a Business Directory. The Mis- cellaneous Department at the beginning of each state includes a descrip- tive sketch of the state with the population according to the United States or State census, a list of the Commissioners of Deeds in other states, list of County Officers, a statement by land districts and counties showing the area of the United States Public Land, unappropriated and unreserved, together with a brief description of its character, and a digest of the statutes affecting real estate.

The Directory contains the names and addresses of all Real Estate Dealers and Agents, also Abstractors of Land Titles, as well as special lists, all arranged first alphabetically by classification and then by post- offices. In front of each state, territory and province will be found an Indexed Map, esp cially prepared for the work and brought down to the latest possible date.
