CONCERNING NAMES NOT IN DIRECTORY
A few remarks about those whose names are not in the di- rectory will be permissible.
Do not hold the compilers re- sopnsible for every omission, for the fault is not always theirs
There are people who do not wish to have their names in the Directory and they exert them- selves in every way to keep away from the name-takers.
While it is certainly no re- proach upon people to have their names in the Directory, there are a number of reasons why some wish to have their names kept out of the Directory, all of which reasons are good reasons why the public should find the names in the Directory.
Included in the "Keep-Out- Clan" is the super-sensitive per- sons, suffering from false pride, who shrink from the exhibition of name and occupation before the public. To this class belong many young ladies and women who are holding respectable po- sitions in the business houses of the city.
$100 REWARD!
The Association of American Directory Publishers will pay $100 reward for the arrest and conviction of any person or persons attempting to collect money on fraudulent directory advertisements.

BLACK TYPE
9 The names appearing in BLACK TYPE in this directory represent the energy and enterprise of the city and it is a pleasure for the pub- lishers of this directory to have the opportunity .o make the public acquainted with them. Those in black type are the people who accomplish the wonders in business here and make Atlanta what it is. They recognize and support all the public necessities and things needful to improve and serve a CITY of Atlanta's magnificent possibilities. They are not the drones and sponges who never support anything, but seek rather to gain by others' hard work and money. When you patronize those in black type you patronize men and firms who will PATRONIZE YOU in the same broad manner that you patronize them.
