EARNEST CARDER

505 South Eighth Street, can now see clearly after being almost blind all his life. Carder is 23 years old and really never knew how the world looked until about two months ago. He speaks of his past unfortunate circumstances as follows:

"I wish to inform those who have known me to be almost blind that I can now see not only to get around to work but to read fine print just as well. The change that has taken place in my eyes in the last four months is wonderful and seems al- most like a dream. Practically all my lifetime has been spent in almost blindness, so I did not know how the world looked. The only way I could partly distinguish objects was to get them within an inch or two of my face. Now I can read fine print at 14 inches distant, which is supposed to be normal. Friends may wish to know cause of change. Dr. Lew Arntz simply made me a pair of glasses to fit my eyes, which was all that was needed to bring out the sight Besides being almost blind I suffered from ulcers on the eyes and granulated eyelids for 15 year. which for been cured by using the Arnty Eye Care. Two 50e bottles had the desired effect The eve lashes which had been falling out have come in thick and regular after using the Five Cure.

Respectfully,

EARNEST CARDER."

Dr. Arntz claims that Mr. Carder's eyes have always con- tained almost perfect sight but that the eyeballs are so deep and misshapen that the rays of light could not be refracted up- on the retina without artificial means and hence the compara- tive blindness.

Looking Well, Says Rev. O. W. Catlin Pella, Iowa, August 10, 1905.

To Whom It May Concern:

This is to certify that I am "looking" better than I did three months ago and that it is all because I am "looking" through glasses fitted to my eyes by Dr. Les Arntz, of Des Moines, lowa, upstairs opposite the street car station.

Now this is no joke: I have tried for several years to get the help I needed for my eyes, once in Fairfield, once in Burlington, twice in Chicago. It would take $75 to foot the bills al! told .! Each time I was told that all had been done that could be. but it remained for Dr Lew Arntz to do more for me than they all.

It is almost like a miracle the way he has corrected my vision. I have said as much to many of my friends as I have met them and seen their need of help. I take this way to tell many more whom I may not see until it will be too late to help them, or perhaps, not at all.

I would rather have Dr. Lew Arntz's ability to help the human vision than to be a millionaire. It is a fortune in itself; besides in its use it scatters blessings on every hand.

If you have any trouble with your eyes, no matter what it is, remember it will cost you nothing to have him examine them and that he will tell you just what can be done and will do it if you give him a chance. I find him very reasonable in his charges. Remember he does more than merely fit a pair of glasses: it may mean a number of them as he develops your vision. You may be sure I am glad that my ex- perience will let ane say these things and I ask my friends to take this as a personal letter. Hopefully yours,

O. W. CATLIN.

Judge C. C. Cole Adds His Testimony to The Skill of Dr. Lew Arntz

Judge C.C.Cole, Iowa's eminent jurist, adds his testi- mony to the skill of Dr. Lew Arntz. Judge Cole's life has beenone of unusual activity and he even now at theage of 80 years, does more than ordinary work as dean of the lowa College of Law. The testimony of Judge Cole carries with it the weight of a man of wide knowledge, sober and conservative judgment. Judge Cole says:

Des Moines, Iowa, May 20, 1904 DR. LEW ARNTZ, CHy.

Dear Sir: It has been my good fortune, in cons nection with the teaching of law, to deliver lecture for many years on medical jurisprudence to both legal and medical classes. In the course of lectures I have taught that generally the visual capacity of the average individual was reduced twenty per cent

,

JUDGE C. C. COLE

at fifty years; thirty per cent at sixty; forty per cent at seventy and fifty per cent at eighty years of age. I have just about reached that last goal and find my teaching practically verified. I desire. therefore, to say that by your experienced judgment in testing my eyes and skill in fitting glasses to them you have greatly reduced the percentage of impair- ment of sight by increasing years and I want to thank you for the aid I have had by reason of your judg- ment and skill in preparing glasses for me. I can recommend you to others who may need aid in the same line. Very respectfully,

C. C. COLE.

L. F. Andrews Commends Dr. Lew Arntz's Skill

Eminent Newspaper Correspondent Expresses Satisfaction over Dr. Lew Arntz' Method of Correcting Errors of Refraction.

Mr. 1 .. F. Andrews, one of the earliest newspaper men in the city and for many years connected with the lowa State Register, expresses satisfaction over the removal of all defects of visual ailments by bifocal glasses prescribed by Dr. Lew Arntz. Mr. Andrews in addition to his journalistic work, is also a sanitary expert and for 18 years was connected with the state board of health. He has compiled much valu- able statistical matter and is at present state exam- iner of gasoline lamps. Although 76 years of age, he is an active staff writer for the Register & Leader, and his articles on the early history of Des Moines and lowa are read and praised throughout the state. Regarding the benefit to his vision derived through Dr. Arntz, he says:

L. F. ANDREWS

DR. LEW ARNTZ:

"I desire to express satisfaction with the Perfec- tion Bifocal Glasses you fitted for my eyes for far and near sight, four separate lenses in one frame. The difference of refraction between the right and left eye was considerable, and not the same in either eye. There was also the impairment of vision con -. sequent in seventy-six years' us. All these defects were entirely removed by your skilled treatment."
