Beginning at a point in the middle of the Raccoon river, on the center line of Ninthy thence easterly follow- ing the middle of said river to a point in line with the center line of Sev- enth as originally. located; thence northerly along the center line of said Seventh as originally located to a point where the center line of said Seventh intersects the center line of Sixth av; thence northerly along the center line of Sixth av to the center line of Elm; thence east along the center line of Elm to the center line of Fifth; thence north along the cen- ter line of Fifth to the center line of Grand av; thence west along the cen- ter line of Grand av to the center line of Sixth av; thence north along the center line of Sixth av to the mid- dle of the Des Moines river; thence southeasterly following the middle of said river to its point of intersection with the east and west center line of Section 35, Township 79, Range 24; thence east along said center line to the north and south center line of Section 35, Township 79, Range 24; thence north along the center line of Sections 35, 26 and 23, Township 79, Range 24, to the north line of the city.
Fourth Ward-The fourth ward shall consist of all that portion of the city lying east of the east boundary lines of the first and third wards and west of the following line:
Beginning in the center of Section 22, on the south line of said city; thence north through the center of Sections 22, 15 and 10 to the middle of the Des Moines river; thence nor- therly up the middle of the Des Moines river to Sixth av bridge where it crosses the river.
Fifth Ward-The fifth ward shall consist of all that portion of the said city lying east of the east boun- daries of the third and fourth wards and lying west of a line as follows: to-wit:
Beginning in the middle of the Des Moines river, where it is intersected by the center line running north through Section 10, Township 78, Range 24; thence eastwardly along the middle of said river to e point opposite Seventh; thence north on Seventh to Locust; thence east on. First Ward: First Precinct-The first precinct shall embrace all of the territory lying south of the Raccoon River and west of the center line of Sections 21, 16 and 9, Township 78, Range 24
Second Precinct-The second pr cinct shall include all of the territe bounded on the east by Forty-se ond, on the south by Raccoon Rive on the west by the corporation line, on the north by the center line of Sections 1 and 2, Township 78, Range 25.
Third Precinct- The third precinct shall comprise all the territory lyig north of the Raccoon River, east Forty-second and Forty-second pro- duced to river, west of Twenty eighth and Twenty-eighth produced to river and south of the center line of Sep tions 5 and 6, Township 78, Rang 24.
Fourth Precinct-The fourth pre- cinct shall include all the territory "lying | east of Twenty-eighth and described as follows, to-wit: Begin- ning in the middle of the . Fourth Percinct-The fourth pre- cinct shall include all of the terri- tory lying south of University av, described as follows, to-wit: Be- ginning on the center line of Sixth av at Laurel; thence west along the center line of Laurel to the center line of Eighth; thence north along the center line of Eighth to the cen- ter line of Laurel going west; thence west along the center line of Laurel to the center line of Ninth; thence south along the center line of Ninth to the center line of Grove; thence' west along the center line of Grove to the center line of Tenth; thence south along the center line of Tenth to the: center line of Day; thence west along, the center line of Day to the center line of Twelfth; thence north along the center line of Twelfth to the cen- ter line of University av; thence east along the center line of University av to the center line, of Ninth; thence north along the center line of Ninth to the center line of University av east; thence east along the center line of University av east to the cen- ter line of Sixth av; thence south along the Center line of Sixth av to place of beginning.
Fifth Precinct-The fifth precinct shall embrace all of the territory within the following described lines, to-wit: Beginning on the center line of Sixth av at University av; thence west on the center line of University av to the center line of Ninth; thence south along the center line of Ninth to University av west; thence west along the center line of University av to the center line of Twelfth; thence north along the center line of Twelfth to the center line of Clark; thence east along the center line of Clark to the center line of Sixth av; thence south along the center line of Sixth av to the place of beginning. -
