They lost five children-William, John, James, Joseph, and Wilson. Mr. C. is a Democrat, and was School Director for two years. Mrs. Copenhaver is a member of the M. E. Church, and her daughters, Miss Nellie and Sarah, are members of the Church of United Brethren.

E, 92d Ill. Mounted Infantry. Mr. and Mrs. Law- rence are members of the M. E. Church. Mr. L.'s father, John Lawrence, Sr., came to Canada in 1836, and came to Illinois with his son in 1838; he died in 1859, aged 79 years.
