Is a small village of some 1, 200 inhabitants, situated in Caryall township, Paulding county, between the Maumee river and the Wabash and Erie canal. It is distant from Fort Wayne twenty- two miles, via Toledo, Wabash & Western Railway, and four and one-half miles from Indiana state line. The products of this town are principally grain and timber (hardwood), the village being in the midst of as valuable a timber belt as can be found in the State.

BLUFFTON,
The capital of Wells county, is on the south bank of the Wabash river, and on the line of the Fort Wayne, Muncie & Cincinnati Railroad, twenty-five miles south of Fort Wayne and ninety miles north-east of Indianapolis. Bluffton is situated in the midst of a good agricultural region, and enjoys a good trade with the people of the county. Several manufactories are in prosper- ous condition. Population about 2,500. It was settled in . 1838.
