A SCIENTIFIC NOVELTY

-- AND-

GREAT ADDITION TO THE SCIENCE OF APPLIED MEDICINE.

By this mechanism, air is forced from the blowing bulb, which is clasped by the right hand, to the bottom of the reservoir containing the medicine to be used, and by a system of suction and injection is thoroughly mixed and impregnated with the properties of the remedy, and then forced through the nose-piece held by the left hand, into and throughout the cavities of the head, throat and lungs, opening and expanding obstructed cavities, tubes and sinuses, dislodging mucus and folicular secretions, and Medicates the Entire Tract.

It is apparent, from the adjoining diagram of the air passages and cavities of the head and throat, that medi- cines snuffed, douched or inhaled. do not reach No. 3, the frontal cavity ; No. 4, Lachrymal Canal, leading to the eye ; No. 5, Ganglionic Nerve ; No. 1, Sphenoid Cavity, or No. 2, Eustachian Tube, leading to the inner drum of the ear, the strongholds of Catarrh, but passes through No. 8, the Lingual Cavity, A, Larynx, to the Bronchial Tubes and Lungs.
