MONROEVILLE.
Is a thrifty, incorporated town of 1,100 inhabitants, located in Monroe township, Allen county, on the P., Ft. W. & C. Ry., 16 miles southeast of Fort Wayne, the county seat, and 140 northeast of Indianapolis, Ind. Monroeville was incorporated in 1863, and is supplied with 4 churches- Methodist, Lutheran, Christian and Catholic-a graded school of 5 departments, a bank, 1 hotel and a weekly news- paper-Breeze. Two saw mills, stave and heading works, brick yard, tlour mill and tire works, comprise the principal manufactories. The surrounding country is well timbered.
