NORTHERN BURIAL GROUND-West side Upper Eighth Street, between Shelby and Railroad. This Cemetery, under the control of the City, is finely laid out and ornamented. Monuments of every variety are tastefully disposed throughout the grounds, some of them fine works of art.


NATIONAL CEMETERY-Northeast of Poplar Street beyond City Limits. Nearly three thousand of the nation's dead find their last resting place in this beautiful spot. The grounds are in charge of a soldier sexton appointed by the Government, who resides up- on the grounds.
