On motion, Bro. Murphy was called to the chair and Bro. .. D. 315 Shortridge appointed Secretary. Meeting oponel by reading scrip-


ture and Prair by the secretary, After the reading of the minutos of the previous meeting, they were approved, the chair appointed the followi: g Brethoren on committee of arrangements, Bros. Fuller Bowers and Young.


After the committees report, the following resolution was offer ed by Bro. Bowers and unamously adopted.


Resolve that this Church always comes prepared to pay Bro. Jermison for his service at each visit.


The Financial report was made by the treasurer and received, There being no further business before this meeting, on motion of Bro. Bowers adjourned to meet at this church on the last Saturisy in June at 20clk. P. M.

1859 At our regular meeting on the first Lords Day in Lay, Bro. Jemeson Presiding, Bro. Moses Hall united by letter with the con- gregation.


Bro. Samuel Tebb united with this church by letter from the Lafayety- Church , on the first Lords Day in June;


On the first Sunday of October , 1859, Bro. Billy Ashby residing Catherine Clark made confession and was baptised and received the right hand of fellowship.

The congregation ville assemblea on the fifth Teres al Le det. i- ceived a communication from Bro. Lovers and Listey Towers, visti to be reicas i from the offices they hold in the Church, the Inte reads as follows.


Dear Brotheren;


Te, the undersigned request of you while assemble this 5th Lords Day of Oct. 1859 to release us from the offices :e are holding, the burden is greater than we can bear. 4. Bowers Margaret Bowers.


The Bretheren discussed the matter at some length and it was urged by some that it would injurious to the church, and it was thot fest . to retain them provided it could be done satisfactorty. After beip- ing upon which stood 12 to retain and 6 to relcase them, thore was a committee of two appointed, W. B. Shortridge & J. D. Murphy to wait on Bro. Bowers and carry up the result of the meeting. No said he felt no disposition to press the matter any further at present.

Church Het pursuant to adjournhent, Brother Nevin resumed the chair Meeting oponed by the president by reading a chapter and prair by Bro. Murphy, Members present, Nevin, Covers, Murphy, Young, Fuller Webb, Baer, Fall, Cann, Huffer, W. B. & S. Shortridge @ Illis. Sister Bowerd, Murphy, Young, and hiller,


Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. By request of some of the members, a new hearing was granted in the case of Bro. Jamison continuing his labors, Resolved that in the discussion of the question that there be a committee of three be appointed to yis vis-t every member, and let them subscribe their votes, whether they were in favor of continuing Pro. Jamison. Pros Fuller, Bro. Murphy and S. Chortridge vere appointed on committee.


Bro. Murphy made his report on repairing the meeting house and it was thot best to lay the business over til spring, The resolution layed over from last meeting in reference to the Deacons resigning, which read as follows. i.esolve that the present Board of Deacons resign, was taken up and treated individually, Beo Young was released, and Bros. Shortridge and Murphy was retained. After a long counsel and social conversation and Prair by Pro. Ful- ler, it was moved that we adjourn subject to call,

The president appointed the following Bretheren on a committee to y arrange business for the meeting. Fuller, murphy @ Cann.


On motion of Dro. Nevin, the report was called for and adopted. Report read as follows, Ist item, business in regard to Bro. Jan ison Lab rs. Resolved, that Bro. Jamison be notified to close his Labors with us at the end of four months, It was amended by saying that his labors should close at the end of his second visit The Resolution passed as amended with but little debate.


2nd Item, reads thus (leaving off the whercas)


Resolved that Bro. Young report the amount he has received for tak- ing care of the church las year, and the church pay the balance.


Report was made and received (without saying any thing about the remainder) ard, Resolved that we need another Deacon, where- upon, Bro. John Cann was unamimously Elected to the office.


4th, Resolve that a committee of three be appointed to solicit the Cooperation of the young Bretheren of the Concord church at ouf young mens Prair Meeting.


This resolution was given into the hands of our young Bretheren and they made their appointment, 5thResolved that our young Frethere be called be called on to report in reference to business trans acted by them last Saturday. night. They reported through their secretary Joseph Ashby, Report received.


6th, Resolved that we take into consideration the condition of our Lights. This resolution ras talked of for some length, and given into the hands of the young Pretheren, and requesting them to col- lect means and buy # fluid lamps for the pulpit in view of light-

Fiscelaneous business on the int onge. Bro. Curplay off ed the following resolution,


Thereas, we the members of this church forbin the Mliereli; ti right to solicit ministerial aid and have from that Gay ceased to prosper as we did before, Therefore, Resolve that this right be restored and they be privelig-d to call such ministerial aid at : at such time and place as in their judgment will best facilitate the cause of Christianity in our Community, and we the members feel our. selves under obligations to defray the expense to the best of our ability.


This Resolution was discussed at some length by Bros. Nevin and Kurphy and after some explanation by Bro. Bowers was passed.


It was Loved by Bro. Nevin to reconsider the first resolution which caried, and after some talk and advisement it was thot best to lay it over to an adjourned meeting and that this adjourned neet ing and its object be pablished on next Lords Day at the close of 1 our social meeting.


Hobed by Bro. Young and seconeded that a resolution be got- ten up, symphizing with the Concord Bretheren, Bros. Young and Nevin was appointed to draft this resolution which reads as follows;


Resolve that the members of the church of Christ worshiping on the West side of the Wild Cat Prairia, do tender our heart felt syn pathies to the Bretheren of the Concord church in this in their in- fancy, being deprived of a house in which to worship, , that "e cheerfully lend our house and its appertonance for their use, and that we shall be happy in contributing all in our power to their comfort here.

Church met pursuant to adjournment, Bro. Powers being absent, Drs. S Devin . as called to the chair, Meeting opened with roadin- affer prair by the chair, The former secretary resured his place, th minutes of the previous meeting was read and approved ..


Bro. Nev in offered the following. Whereas the establishing 2 of reconsideration of motions regularly made and caried at our busi ness meeting duly published, is calculated retard business and caus much confusion. Resolved that from this time unless by a two thrids vote, whole church, No motion legally made and carried at a regular business shall be reconsidered, but shall be final. Further, that one Elder. 4 members shall be considered a quorum for the transaction of business.


The question for the reconsideration of a motion carried at our previous meetings was refered to and opened for debate. A protract ed stillness seized upon all present, when this state of things With became almost intolerable to active minds, it was moved by Bro. Young that we adjourn. After awhile Bro. Murphy broke the stillness and business commenced, The question in reference to Bro. Jamison was settled by an ammendment of the prey ious question, Saying that we would keep Bro. Jamison untill such time as we could get some ph one els to fill his place.


Elder Fuller requested the power granted him at the last meeting Renewed. Bro. Murphy moved the Elders be requested to corros. pond with Bros. Houston, Hobbs and others for the purpose of obtain ing a minister to succeed Pro. Jamison.

Church Business Continued.


On Saturday night before the first Sunday in March, Bro. Jamison of commenced meetingswhich continued til the next Thursday night, re- sulting to four additions by confession and Baptism. Lovina Bark- ley, Saml. Comby, T. J. Thorn : Peter Cann.


On the first Lords Day in ilay (At Bro. Jamison regulat time) Bro. daco! Bowerscome forward and presented his letter of commendation and tp ceived the right hand of fellowship.


On the first Lords Day in September, at Bro. Jamison regular time Bro. Loehhart officiating, Jane Lann came forward and wished to unite herself to the bretheren here having previously been : the congregation extended to sister Lann the right hand of fellowship.


1860, Members met in Business capacity on the evening of the 10" of Nov. at candle lighting, for the purpose of selecting from f the congregation another Elder and Deacon.


Bro. Bowers was called to the chair and after reading a portion of Gods word the congregation joi ed Bro. Bowers in. Tor- ship.


Bro. Murphy was then brot forvard as a suitable man for ilder Bro. Murphy made a few very appropriate remarks in referrence to the duties and responsibilities resting upon an ilder. and also stating that he would much rather Bro. Boxers should be reinstated as Elder, but for some reason (best known to himself) he declines. Bro. Turphy was then released from the office of Deacon and unan

On Lords Day Nov. 22" the Elders reported Bro. Abraham Campbell as being disconnected with the church for imprudent acts for which he would not make amends, and expressing a desire to be released from the fellowship of the church.


In the month of Dec. 1800, the church withdrew her fellowship from William Parsons on account of his attending shooting matches and other impending conduct. Allen Waters


1561 At a Meeting held on the 4" Lords Day in January, Bro. LLockhart of ficiating, John Waters : Margaret Waters, "m. H. Manory and Saman- tha Fidler were united with the church.

February 4" 1861. Church met in business capacity on the above iz date, when a goodly number of bretheren and sisters came out, Bro. Koses Hall was called to the chair, and after reading a portion of the living Word, Bro. Nevin led in petitioning a throne of Grace, after Bro. Young was chosen Secretary, It was moved by some one ther a committee of three be appointed to arrange business for the meet- ing, which motion caried and the president appointed the following committee, Bros. Cann, Murphy, and Fuller, the committee reported the following, Ist Shall we continue Bro. Houston -abor, End, Concerning Finances, Erd, with referrence to employing a regular sexton, 4th, Miscellaneous items.


Ist was taken up by Gro. Kevin expressing the following politica, resolve; that we continue the labor of pro. Houston as a Coudreh pastor for one year from the time of lis first visit.

Resolve that we place in the Lone. of our Deacons, a subscription paper, first to be presented to the members of the church, and then to the world for the purpose of rasin means for the support of the church. After some considerable debate, and several comments offered, the original resolution carie Item &, Resolve that Deacons employ a sexton, and that the sexton empowered be furnished with a list of the mail members, and he be szzzpved to call on thex members for their services in taking care of this house.


1861. And in case they don't do it, the sexton shall take care the house and then pay him for his services.


Miscelaneous (mit) Resolve that each mail member shall bring a load of wood during the ensuing week, caried. There being no further business before the meeting, it was moved to adjourn, subject to a call of the offi cers of the church, caried.

Cann, Allon and John Tat4 Waters, Fox, & Jewell. Bro. Nevin was called to the chair, who opened the meeting by reading and Prair, On motion the chair aspoi. nted Bros. Fuller, Murphy, and P. H. Cann, on a committee to arrange business for the meeting. who reported the following programme, of business which was adopted. After reading the scripture and prayer the minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. On a glance of the financial state of the church, it was estimated that we are indebted to the amount . 228. and twentyfive cents in the treasurer. On notion of John Neven seconed by P.Cann, Bro. J. Murphy be requested to act as coelder with Elder Fuller in the overight of the church. On motion duly seconded it was resolved to have a business meeting at an early dar for the purpose of electing trustees for the church ..

After a portion of scripture was read and prayer by the chairman, the minutes of the previous meeting was called for, but them not jj. handed to the clerk, they had not been recordel.


On motion Br. Hall was appointed to wait on mr. DeHart to inquir: if he would allow us to move the parsonage on his ground. On motion Bro. Nevin is requested to call upon the bretheren for their pro za rate on the house. On motion of br. levin, ' S. Shortridge, Bro. D. J. Macpeek was requested to labor for the Bretheren as pastor, o once a month for a year, carried unamimous.


On motion that Bro. D. J. Macheek be paid by the church at the rate of $100. COper annum, payable annually which was also carried unamim moisly.


On motion the three extra times which Dr. P. J. "ac?pek had of- ficiated to be paid at the same rate. It was likewise unamously carried that the expense of the delicates for the congregation to b the State meeting shall be refunded by the Treasurerfrom the chuich fund as well as for an advertisement to in relation to the trusted
