Bethany College Library, connected with the College of the Sisters of Bethany, and contains about 5,000 volumes.


Library of the Kansas Academy of Science, west wing of the Capitol Build- ing.


Lincoln School Library, located in the public-school building on Fifth and Madison streets, and contains over 4,000 well-selected volumes.


Public Library, located on the grounds of the Kansas State Capitol. Occu- pies a magnificent building, costing over $40,000, which was erected especially for its use, and has over 20,000 books on its shelves. Open daily until 9 P. M., except Sundays, when it is open in the afternoon only.


State Library, located in the basement story of the east wing of the State Cap- itol. It is one of the largest and most valuable libraries in the West, containing 40,000 volumes. James L. King, State Librarian.


State Historical Society Library, located in the west wing of the Kansas State House ; contains over 40,500 books, and is in charge of F. G. Adams, secretary of the society.


Swedish Library, 505 Kansas avenue ; in charge of John Watts. Contains several hundred volumes of Swedish literature.
