WARRANT FOR ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
COMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS NORFOLK, ss.
To the Constables of the Town of Weymouth in said County. GREETING:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Weymouth aforesaid qualified to vote in Town affairs to meet at the hall of the Weymouth High School on Monday, the 1st Day of March, 1926 at seven o'clock and forty-five minutes in the evening, then and there to act upon the following articles, namely :
General Administration
Art. 1. To choose all necessary Town Officers, other than those elected by ballot, viz: Public Weighers, Surveyors of Wood, Lumber and Bark( two or more Fence Viewers, two or more Field Drivers, one Pound Keeper, a Planning Board and an Electric Light Committee.
Art. 2. To hear and act upon the reports of the several boards of Town officers, and of any committee oppointed at any former meeting and to choose any committees the Town may think proper.
Art. 3. To see if the Town will vote to authorize its Treas- urer, with the approval of its Selectmen, to borrow money in an- ticipation of the revenue of the current financial year.
Art. 4 To see if the Town will vote to authorize its Treas- urer, with the approval of its Selectmen, on or after January 1st, 1927, to borrow money in anticipation of the revenue of the year 1927.
Art. 5. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for a reserve fund.
Art. 6. To see if the Town will designate the Weymouth Trust Company, the First National Bank of Boston, and the Na- tional Shawmut Bank of Boston as legal depositories for the funds of the Town, and the Weymouth Trust Company as legal deposi- tory for the securities of the town.
Art. 7. 'To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $5291.21 for the payment of Weymouth's portion to-

wards the cost of repairs and maintenance of Norfolk County Hos- pital for the year 1925.
Art. 8. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or will appropriate, for the payment of un- paid bills.
Art. 9. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to appropriate from surplus for the use of the Assessors in determin- ing the tax-rate for the year 1926.
Town Survey
Art. 10. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the maintenance of the Town survey system, or take any action in relation thereto.
Art. 11. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropri- ate the sum of five hundred dollars for the purpose of erecting boundstones on accepted highways.
Taxes and Interest
Art. 12. To determine in what manner taxes shall be collect- ed the current year, and to fix the rate of interest on all taxes re- maining unpaid after the time fixed for payment.
Art. 13. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the payment of interest which may be- come due the current year.
Printing and Advertising
Art. 14. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for printing and advertising.
Shade Trees and Suppression of Moths
Art. 15. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the preservation of shade trees, the same to be expended under the direction of the Tree Warden.
Art. 16. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the suppression of gypsy and browntail moths, or take any other action in relation thereto.
State and Military Aid and Soldiers' Relief -
Art. 17. To see what sum of money the Town will appropriate for the payment of State and Military Aid, and for burials under the provisions of Chapter 115, Section 3, of the General Laws, and to determine how much of the same shall be raised by taxation.
Art. 18. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the relief of disabled soldiers and sea- men and families of disabled soldiers and seamen under Chapter 115, Section 17, General Laws.
Schools
Art. 19. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the support of public schools and the transportation of pupils to and from school.
Art. 20. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the grading and improvement of the grounds around the new school building at Bicknell Square, North Weymouth, and constructing of driveways and walks thereon.

Art. 21. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the equipment and furnishings of the new school building at Bicknell Square, North Weymouth, and its auditorium.
Art. 22. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the installation of water service in the new school building at Bicknell Square, North Weymouth.
Art. 23. To see if the Town will vote to acquire by purchase or by right of eminent domain, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 79 of the General Laws for playground purposes, a parcel of land situated in North Weymouth adjoining the North Weymouth school grounds at Bicknell Square, purporting to be owned by Mary A. Donovan, and bounded substantially as fol- lows :
Northerly by land now or formerly of Wallace H. Drake and by land now or formerly of Anna S. Newton ;
Easterly by land now or formerly of said Anna S. Newton, Clara L. Newton, Charles H. Williams, Sarah W. Comstock et al, Horace W. Walker, Joshua H. Shaw and Dora W. Spear ;
Southerly by land now or formerly of Alberta H. McKenney, by land of Mary A. Murphy and land now or formerly of Leona M. Savage;
Westerly in various courses by land of the Town of Weymouth. Containing about 136,000 square feet.
And further to see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purchase or taking of such land, or to take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 24. On petition: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate $1,000. for grading and otherwise improving the Play Ground connected with the new school at North Weymouth, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 25. On petition: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of sixty thousand ($60,000.00) dollars for the purchase of a site and the erection thereon of a six room school house in Pond Plain; the location to be selected and the building constructed under the direction of the School Board, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 26. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise, by taxation or otherwise, and apropriate for the building, equipping and furnishing of a shop or similar building for use of the Weymouth Day Industrial School at the Weymouth High School, or to take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 27. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise, by taxation or otherwise, and appropriate for the purpose of purchasing or taking land lying. northerly and westerly of the High School premises, and to purchase or take such land, or any por- tion thereof, for school puposes; or to take any other action in re- lation thereto.
Art. 28. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise, by taxation or otherwise, and appropriate for the purpose of purchasing or taking land lying southerly of the Hunt School premises, and westerly of Stetson Street, northerly of Front Street or land of owners adjacent to Front Street, for purpose of making

an addition to the Hunt School grounds, and to purchase or take such land, or any portion thereof, for such purpose; or to take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 29. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise, by taxation or otherwise, and appropriate for the purpose of purchasing or taking land lying easterly and westerly of the Hum- phrey School grounds, and to purchase or take such land, or any portion thereof, for school purposes; or to take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 30. 'To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise, by taxation or otherwise, and appropriate for the purpose of purchasing or taking land lying westerly of the Nevin School grounds, and to purchase or take such land, or any portion thereof, for school purposes; or to take any other action in relation thereto.
Public Parks
Art. 31. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the care and maintenance of the parks of Weymouth, the same to be expended under the supervision of the Park Commissioners.
Art. 32. On petition : To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the laying out and improv- ing the park at the junction of Wessagussett and Pilgrim Roads, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 33. On petition : To see if the Town will vote to name the park at the junction of Wessagussett and Pilgrim Roads "Ru- fus O. Clark Park."
Fire Department
Art. 34. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the support of the Fire Department.
Art. 35. On Petition : To see what sum of money the Town will raise and appropriate for a Fire Alarm Box at the corner of West and Summer Streets.
Police Department
Art. 36. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for police service.
Town Officers, Election and Town Offices
Art. 37. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the payment of Town Officers.
Art. 38. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for election expenses.

Art. 40. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for Tufts Library.

Public Charity
Art. 42. To see what sum of money. the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the relief and support of the poor.
Street Lighting
Art. 43. To see if the Town will authorize the Electric Light Committee to contract with the Weymouth Light and Power Co. for furnishing lights for the Town, or act in any manner relating thereto.
Art. 44. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the lighting of streets.
Art. 45. On petition: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money to install street lights all the way on Forest Street between Randolph and Columbian Streets or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 46. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money to install a street light on Commercial Street opposite No. 1029 or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art.47. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money to install electric lights on Main Street from junction of Washington and Main Streets to Winter Street.
Health Department
Art. 48. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the services and expenses of the Board of Health.
Art. 49. By request: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $1500. for the employment of district or other nurses under the provisions of the General Laws, Chap- ter 40, Section 5.
Ways and Bridges
Art. 50. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the repairs of highways, townways, bridges and street oiling, and the removal of snow.
Art. 51. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate $25,000.00 for the permanent construction of existing high- ways or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 52. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of $5,000.00 for the building of permanent side- walks, the same to be expended under the provisions of the Better- ment Act.
Art. 53. To see if the Town will authorize the Board of Se- lectmen to petition the County Commissioners to lay out, or au- thorize the Board of Selectmen of Weymouth, to lay out, a public way across the South Shore branch of the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Company, at or near the location of the pres- ent Idlewell bridge, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 54. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of $1500.00 to complete the working of Pecksuot. Road.
Art. 55. On petition: To see if the Town will. vote to raise and apropriate $1000.00 to repair and replace in a safe condition for

travel that part of Randolph Street from what is known as Hales Corner to the Holbrook line.
Art. 56. On petition : To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to finish the sidewalks on Sea Street.
Art.57. ' On petition : To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to rebuild the culvert at the junction of Pleasant and Water Streets, and also to widen the brook at a point about 200 feet north of said culvert, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 58. On petition : To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate $800.00 to build a sidewalk on Kensington Road or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 59. On petition : To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money to repair Sherwood Road, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 60. On petition : To see if the town will accept the re- port of the Selectmen upon the laying out as a town way the pri- vate way known as Delorey Avenue, running from Standish Street to Evans Street.
Art. 61. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for working the above street.
Art. 62. On petition: To see if the Town will accept the report of the Selectmen upon the laying out as a town way the private way known as Fisk Avenue running about 400 feet in be- tween 637 and 639 Commercial Street.
Art. 63. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for working the above street.
Art. 64. On petition : To see if the Town will accept the re- port of the Selectmen upon the laying out as a town way the pri- vate way known as Pierce Road.

Art. 66. On petition : To see if the Town will vote to accept the report of the Selectmen upon extending Beals Street through to Norton Street as a public way.

Art. 70. On petition: To see if the Town will vote to ac- cept the report of the Selectmen upon the laying out as a town way the private ways known as Hobomack Road and part of Wessa- gussett Road to Pilgrim Road.
Art. 71. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for working the above street.
Art. 72. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the construction of a road from Middle Street on the north side of the High School property, or take any other action in relation thereto.

To see if the Town will vote to acquire by purchase or by right of eminent domain, in accordance with provisions of Chapter 79 of the General Laws, for sidewalk purposes, a strip of land on the easterly side of Washington Street, Weymouth, north- erly from Kensington Road to Vine Street, bounded and described as follows :
Beginning at a point on the northeasterly side line of Wash- ington Street, as laid out as a state highway, distant 246.27 feet southeasterly from a stone monument, marked M. H. B., situated on said line of Washington St., said point being at the intersection of said line of Washington Street with the southerly line of Vine Street, thence running southeasterly by said line of said Washington Street by land of Mary D. Finch, land of Philip F. Haviland, land of Caroline R. and Otto J. A. Meier, by land of John Haviland, by land of Theresa Down, by land of Alice L. Garrity, by land of John and Charlotte Ghiorsi, joint tenants, by land of George T. Dowd, by Louds Avenue, so called, a private way, and by land of Mary L. Silck, a total distance of 605.46 feet to the northerly side line of Kensington Road, thence running easterly by said line of Kensing- ton Road, a distance of 4.33 feet ; thence running orthwesterly across said land of Silck, across Louds Avenue, across said land of George T. Dowd, across said land of Ghorsi, across said land of Garrity, across said land of Theresa Dowd, across said land of John Havi- land, across said land of Meier, across said Ind of Philip F. Havi- land, and across said land of Finch :
a total distance of 607.76 feet to said line of Vine Street, thence running southwesterly by said line of Vine Street, a distance of 0.38 feet to the point of beginning; and containing a total area of 1894 square feet, taken as follows: from said Finch 34 ss. ft., from said Philip F. Haviland 65 sq. ft., from said Meier 155 sq. ft., from said John Haviland 227 sq. ft., from said Theresa Dowd 240 sq. ft., from said Garrity 239 sq. ft., from said Ghiorsi 277 sq. ft. from said George T. Dowd 316 sq. ft., from Louds Avenue 71 sq. ft., 'and from said Silck 170 sq. ft.
