WARRANT FOR ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS
NORFOLK, ss.
To the Constables of the Town of Weymouth in said County. GREETING:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Weymouth aforesaid qualified to vote in Town affairs to meet at the hall of the Weymouth High School on Monday, the 5th day of March, 1927 at seven o'clock and forty-five minutes in the evening, then and there to act upon the following articles, namely:
GENERAL ADMINISTRATION
Art. 1 To choose all necessary Town Officers, other than those elected by ballot, viz: Public Weighers, Surveyors of Wood, Lumber and Bark, two or more Fence Viewers, two or more Field Drivers, one Pound Keeper, a Planning Board and an Electric Light Committee.
Art. 2. To hear and act upon the reports of the several boards of Town Officers, and of any committee appointed at any former meeting and to choose any committees the Town may think proper.
Art. 3. To see if the Town will vote to authorize its Treas- urer, with the approval of its Selectmen, to borrow money in an- ticipation of the revenue of the current financial year.
Art. 4. To see if the Town will vote to authorize its Treas- urer, with the approval of its Selectmen, on or after January 1st, 1928, to borrow money in anticipation of the revenue of the year 1928.
Art. 5. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for a reserve fund.

Art. 6. To see if the Town will designate the Weymouth Trust Company, the First National Bank of Boston, and the Na- tional Shawmut Bank of Boston as legal depositories for the funds of the Town, and the Weymouth Trust Company as legal deposi- tory for the securities of the town.
Art. 7. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $5291.21 for the payment of Weymouth's portion to- wards the cost of repairs and maintenance of Norfolk County Hos- pital for the year 1926.
Art. 8. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the payment of unpaid bills.
Art. 9. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to appropriate from surplus for the use of the Assessors in deter- mining the tax rate for the year 1927.
Art. 10. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Se- lectmen on recommendation of the Town Counsel, to settle all claims by or against the Town upon such terms as shall seem to them expedient, or take any other action in reference thereto.
TOWN SURVEY
Art. 11. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the maintenance of the Town Survey sys- tem, or take any action in relation thereto.
Art. 12. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of five hundred dollars for the purpose of erecting bound- stones on accepted highways.
Art. 13. To see if the Town will accept section 73 of Chapter 41 of the General Laws, providing for a Board of Survey .
TAXES AND INTEREST
Art. 14. To determine in what manner taxes shall be collect- ed the current year, and to fix the rate of interest on all taxes re- maining unpaid after the time fixed for payment.
Art. 15. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the payment of interest which may become due the current year.
PRINTING AND ADVERTISING
Art. 16. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for printing and advertising.
SHADE TREES AND SUPPRESSION OF MOTHS
Art. 17. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the preservation of Shade Trees, the- same to be expended under the direction of the Tree Warden.
Art. 18. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the suppression of gypsy and browntail moths, or take any other action in relation thereto.

STATE AND MILITARY AID AND SOLDIERS' RELIEF
Art. 19. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the payment of State and Military Aid and for burials under the provisions of Chapter 115, Section 3, of the General Laws.
Art. 20. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the relief of disabled soldiers and seamen and families of disabled soldiers and seamen under Chapter 115, Section 17, General Laws.
SCHOOLS
Art. 21. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the support of public schools and the transportation of pupils to and from school.
Art. 22. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the construction and equipment of an ad- dition to the High School, and to determine by vote the manner in which the funds for said purpose shall be raised and the terms and conditions of any loan or loans necessary to procure such funds, and to authorize the issue of bonds or notes, for the same and fix the term and rate of interest on such bonds or notes, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 23. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by loan or otherwise, and appropriate, for the erection and equipment of an additional building at the Pratt School, and to determine by vote the manner in which the funds for said purpose shall be raised and the terms and conditions of any loans necessary to procure such funds, and to authorize the issue of bonds or notes for the same and fix the term and rate of interest on such bonds or notes, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 24. To see if the Town will authorize the Board of Se- lectmen to acquire by purchase or take by right of eminent domain a lot of land for a schoolhouse at or near Pond Plain, so called, and to see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate for the aforesaid purpose, or take any other action in re- lation hereto.
Art. 25. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate by loan or otherwise, for the erection and equip- ment of a schoolhouse in the Pond Plain district, so called, and to determine by vote the manner in which the funds for said purpose shall be raised and the terms and conditions of any loan or loans necessary to procure such funds, and to authorize the issue of bonds or notes for the same and to fix the term and rate of inter- est on such bonds or notes, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 26. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purpose of further improvement of "The Legion Memorial Field" and to take any other action in re- lation thereto.

PUBLIC PARKS
Art. 27. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the care and maintenance of the parks of Weymouth, the same to be expended under the supervision of the Park Commissioners.
Art. 28. To see if the Town will vote to auhorize the Select- men to acquire by purchase or take by right of eminent domain for park purposes, the whole or any portion of the land lying North- erly and Westerly and Southwesterly of the present Great Hill Park and contained within the following boundaries: Westerly by North Street and a continuation of North Street to the mean low water mark of Boston Harbor; thence Northerly by mean low water mark of Boston Harbor; thence Easterly by a continuation of the line of Neck Street and by Neck Street; thence Southerly by the present Northerly line of Great Hill Park; thence Easterly by the present Westerly line of Great Hill Park; and thence Northerly by the present Southerly line of Great Hill Park; thence Southerly by land now or formerly of A. O. Crane, and by land now or for- merly of Peter B. and Robert S. Bradley; thence Southerly by land now or formerly of Hattie L. Clark to a point of beginning, or take any other action in regard to the same.
Art. 29. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise, by loan or otherwise, and appropriate for the acquisition by purchase or eminent domain of the land on Great Hill referred to in the preceding article; and to determine by vote the manner in which the funds for said purpose shall be raised and the terms and conditions of any loan or loans necessary to procure such funds, and to authorize the issue of bonds or notes for the same and to fix the term and rate of interest on such bonds or notes, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 30. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen, or a majority of them, provided the necessary author- ity therefor is secured from the Legislature, to convey to Peter B. Bradley and Robert S. Bradley, or their nominee, certain land form- ing the Easterly portion of Great Hill Park and to accept in ex- change therefor a deed of an equal area of land lying Northerly Westerly or Southerly of the present Great Hill Park, or take any other action in reference thereto.
FIRE DEPARTMENT
Art. 31. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the support of the Fire Department.
Art. 32. On petition: To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the installation of a Fire Alarm Box at the corner of Pleasant and Raymond Streets, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 33. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the building and equipment of a Fire Alarm building in the rear of the Central Fire Station, and to de- termine by vote the manner in which the funds for said purpose shall be raised and the terms and conditions of any loan or loans

necessary to procure such funds, and to authorize the issue of bonds or notes for same and to fix the term and rate of interest on such bonds or notes, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 34. On petition: To see if the Town will vote to accept the provisions of Section 48 of Chapter 31 of the General Laws as to the regular members of the Fire Department, thereby placing them under the provisions of the Civil Service Law, as provided in said Chapter.
POLICE DEPARTMENT
Art. 35. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for police service.
Art. 36. On petition: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money to pay the salary of a night Police Officer at Lovell's Corner.
TOWN OFFICERS, ELECTION AND TOWN OFFICES
Art. 37. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the payment of Town Officers.
Art. 38. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for election expenses.
Art. 39.º To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the rent and expenses of Town Offices.
PUBLIC LIBRARY AND READING ROOM
Art. 40. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for Tufts Library.
Art. 41. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the maintenance of a reading room in the Fogg Library.
PUBLIC CHARITY
Art. 42. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the relief and support of the poor.
STREET LIGHTING
Art. 43. To see if the Town will authorize the Electric Light Committee to contract with the Weymouth Light & Power Com- pany for furnishing lights for the Town, or act in any manner re- lating thereto.
Art. 44. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for lighting of the streets.
Art. 45. On petition: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a certain sum of money to install street lights on Main Street from the residence of Amie Hochstrasser to the North Abington Line.
Art. 46. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the relighting of Jackson Square.

Art. 47. On petition: To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the proper lighting of Sea Street, from Pearl to Wessagussett Road, and of Bridge Street, from Newton Street through Bicknell Square.

Art. 52. To see if the Town will authorize the issuance of
not to exceed $15,000.00 in Bonds or Notes, for the construction of water mains of six inches or more in diameter, said Bonds or Notes to be payable within fifteen years of the date of issue, and in accordance with Section 19 of Chapter 44 of the General Laws.
Art. 53. To see if the Town will authorize the issuance of not to exceed $10,000.00 in Bonds or Notes, for the installation of a standby pumping unit at Great Pond, said Bonds or Notes to be payable within five years of the date of issue and in accordance with Section 19 of Chapter 44 of the General Laws.
Art. 54. To see if the Town will authorize the appropriation of not to exceed $20,000.00 from the General Fund of the Water Department for carrying on necessary work for private parties; payment for said work to revert to the General Fund.

Art. 55. To see if the Town will authorize the appropriation of not to exceed $7,000.00 from the General Fund of the Water De- partment for the purchase of a trenching machine for the use of that department.
Art. 56. To see if the Town will accept the provisions of Chapter 391, Acts of 1923, as amended by Chapter 413, Acts of 1924, making water rates a lien on property.
Art. 57. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Water Commissioners to acquire by purshase or take by right of eminent domain under the provisions of Chapter 79 and Section 41 of Chapter 40 of the General Laws, for the purpose of preserving the purity of the water supply, the whole or any portion of the land lying within the watershed of Weymouth Great Pond and not already owned by the Town, or authorized to be acquired under some other vote, such takings to be made from time to time as the said Board shall deem the interests of the Town require and no land to be acquired in excess of the amount which in the opinion of the Board can be acquired within the limits of the money ap- propriated from time totime for that porpose by the Town.
Art. 58. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Water Commissioners to acquire by purchase or take by right of eminent domain for the purpose of preserving the purity of its water suuply under the provisions of Chapter 79 and Section 41 of Chapter 40 of the General Laws the land with or without the buildings thereon adjoining Great Pond contained within the fol- lowing boundaries:

Beginning at a point on the easterly line of Weymouth Great Pond on the division line between land of the town of Weymouth and land of Carrie H. Dunn; thence running easterly by said div- ision line a distance of 37.50 feet to a drill hole in a stone bound; thence continuing in the same course by said division line a dis- tance of 620.81 feet to the southeast corner of said land of the town of Weymouth; thence turning and running southerly in a straight line a total distance of about 1325 feet measuring ap- proximately as follows: about 391 feet across land of said Dunn; about 633 feet across land of Nathaniel A. Shaw et al; about 83 feet across land of Bessie G. Bridges; about 115 feet across land of James J. Cody; about 83 feet across land of Francis S. Fearing; and about 20 feet across Oakden Avenue so called private way, to the northeast corner of land of Charles S. Gay; thence running southerly but a little more easterly in a straight line by the div- ision line between said land of Gay, land of Joseph L. Jannell and other land of said Gay on one side and land of of the Norfolk Realty Co. on the other a total distance of 145 feet, measuring respective- ly as follows: by land of Gay 45 feet, by land of Joseph L. Jan- mell 50 feet; and by said other land of Gay 50 feet; thence run- ning southerly but a little more westerly in a straight line a total distance of about 917 feet measuring approximately as follows: about 98 feet across land of John H.
