TOWN WARRANT
THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS. MIDDLESEX, SS. To Daniel M. Hooley, Constable of the Town of Arlingion, in said County:
GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Arlington, qualified as the Constitution requires, to vote in elections, to meet at the polling places designated for the several precincts in said Town, on Monday, the sixth day of March, 1922, at six o'clock, in the forenoon, to act on the following articles, namely :
ARTICLE 1. To elect by ballot the following town officers: Moderator for one year; a Selectman for three years; a Town Clerk for one year; a Town Treasurer for one year; a Collector of Taxes for one year; an Auditor for one year; a member of the Board of Public Works for three years; one Assessor for three years; three members of the School Committee for three years; two Trustees of the Robbins Library for three years; one mem- ber of the Board of Health for three years; one Park Commis- sioner for three years; two members of the Planning Board for three years; one Commissioner of the Sinking Fund for three years; one Trustee of the Pratt Fund for five years; one Trustee of the Edwin S. Farmer Poor Widows Fund and the Edwin S. Farmer Fund for Needy Persons for five years; one Cemetery Commissioner for three years; a Tree Warden for one year; also, in each precinct, twelve Town Meeting Members for three years; two members in Precinct One for two years; and one member for one year; one member in Precinct Two for two years, and two members for one year; one member in Precinct Five for

two years; also on the same ballot to vote "Yes" or "No" upon the question "Shall licenses be granted for the sale of certain non-intoxicating beverages in this Town?"
For these purposes the polls will be opened at six o'clock, a.m., and remain open until five o'clock p.m., at each of the polling places designated, viz: Precincts One and Two in Crosby School Building, Winter Street; Precincts Three, Four, Five and Six in Town Hall; Precinct Seven in Locke School Building, Park Avenue, Heights.
You are, also, required to notify and warn the said inhab- itants to meet at the Town Hall in said Town on Wednesday, the twenty-ninth day of March, 1922, at eight o'clock in the evening to act on the following articles:
ART. 2. To choose or appoint all other usual town officers not hereinbefore mentioned in such manner as the Town may determine.
ART. 3. To hear and act on the reports of the Board of Selectmen, and other town boards and officers, and of the Finance and other Committees heretofore appointed.
ART. 4. To make an appropriation for the Robbins Library for the ensuing year.
ART. 5. To make an appropriation for the public schools of the Town, determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended, or take any action relating thereto.
ART. 6. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the proper observance of Memorial Day; determine in what manner the money shall be expended; or take any action thereon.
ART. 7. To see if the Town will appropriate $7,000 in accordance with the vote passed December 6, 1904, for water used for public purposes for the ensuing year.
ART. 8. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the construction of permanent sidewalks and for the instal- ling of curbstone for the ensuing year; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action thereon.
ART. 9. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the use of the Highway Division, determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action thereon.

ART. 10. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the maintenance of the sewerage system for the ensuing year; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action thereon.
ART. 11. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the extension of the sewerage system; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action thereon.
ART. 12. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the extension of water mains; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action thereon.
ART. 13. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the extension of storm drains; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action thereon.
ART. 14. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the removal of snow and ice from the highways; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action thereon.
ART. 15. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the collection of ashes, offal and rubbish for the ensuing year ; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action thereon.
ART. 16. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for street lighting, or take any action thereon.
ART. 17. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the engineering work of the Town, or take any action thereon.
ART. 18. To see if the Town will make an appropriation to be expended for suppressing the gypsy and brown tail moths under Chapter 132 of the General Laws and Amendments thereto; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action thereon.
ART. 19. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the planting of trees, removal of dead and dangerous trees, and for the trimming and general care of existing trees, the same to be expended under the direction of the Tree Warden, or take any action thereon.
ART. 20. To see if the Town will make an appropriation

for the maintenance and improvement of the public parks of the Town: determine in what manner the money shall be raised or take any action thereon.
ART. 21. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the payment of pensions to persons entitled to such pensions under the provisions of law accepted by the Town, or take any action thereon.
ART. 22. To see if the Town will appoint the Selectmen agents of the Town to institute, prosecute, defend and settle suits, legal proceedings and claims by, against or involving the interests of the Town with power to employ counsel therein and when necessary, in all other legal matters and business appertaining to town affairs during the year commencing March 1, 1922.
ART. 23. To see if the Town will authorize the Town Treasurer, under the direction of the Selectmen, to borrow money in anticipation of the revenue for the year 1922, the same to be repaid directly from the proceeds of said revenue; or take any action relating thereto.
ART. 24. To see if the Town will authorize its Collector of Taxes to use all means of collecting taxes for the year 1922, which a Town Treasurer may use when appointed a Collector of Taxes.
ART. 25. To see what action the Town will take in relation to the appointment or election of a Finance Committee of twenty-one citizens for the ensuing year.
ART. 26. To determine in what manner the town ways, highways, and bridges shall be repaired during the ensuing year.
ART. 27. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the installation of additional means of fire protection in the public schools buildings of the Town, determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended, or take any action relating thereto.
ART. 28. To hear and act upon the report of the Com- mittee appointed by the Town on March 31, 1921, to consider the Town's By-Laws; to amend, alter, repeal, revise or add to the Town's By-Laws including By-Laws relating to buildings or other structures and the limitation of particular classes of buildings to specified districts or zones; make an appropriation

for the printing of such By-Laws; or take any action relating thereto.
ART. 29. To see if the Town will accept and allow the taking in fee by eminent domain as made and reported by the Board of Park Commissioners and filed in the office of the Town Clerk, of the land situated in said Town, bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the easterly side line of Massa- chusetts Avenue at land of said Town, distant 86.77 feet southeasterly from an iron bolt on said line; thence running northeasterly on said land of said Town, 48.41 feet to the westerly side line of Broadway; thence running southeasterly on said side line of Broadway 129 feet; thence turning and running southwesterly on land of Grace L. Whittemore et al, 91 feet, more or less, to a point on said side line of Massachusetts Avenue, distant 119 feet southeasterly from said point of beginning; thence running northwesterly on said line of Massa- chusetts Avenue 119 feet to the point of beginning, containing 8,400 square feet, more or less, as shown on a plan entitled, "Plan of land in Arlington, Mass., showing proposed taking for park location, February 8, 1922, George E. Ahern, Town Engineer," on file in the office of the Town Clerk; authorize the said Board to take in fee by eminent domain or by purchase or otherwise said land including the trees thereon and the structures affixed thereto, for the purpose of a public park; make an appropriation sufficient for the estimated expense thereof; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating thereto.
ART. 30. To see if the Town will authorize the Selectmen to purchase, or take in fee by eminent domain, for the purpose of erecting thereon a building to be used for an engine house, the land situated in said Town, bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the easterly side line of Massa- chusetts Avenue distant southeasterly 205.77 feet from an iron bolt in said side line; thence running northeasterly on land of Grace L. Whittemore and another 91 feet, more or less, to a point on the westerly side line of Broadway, distant south- easterly measured on said side line 129 feet from land of said

Town; thence running southeasterly on said side line of Broad- way 110.41 feet to other land of said Town; thence running southwesterly on said Town land 55 feet, more or less, to land now or formerly of A. Foster Brooks; thence running south- easterly still on said Town land 56 feet, more or less, to the northerly side line of Franklin Street; thence running south- westerly on said side line of Franklin Street 85 feet, more or less, to the said easterly side line of Massachusetts Avenue and thence running northwesterly on said line of Massachusetts Avenue 177 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning, con- taining 17,100 square feet, more or less, all as shown on a plan entitled "Plan of land in Arlington, Mass., showing proposed taking for an Engine House, February 8, 1922, George E. Ahern, Town Engineer," on file in the office of the Town Engineer in said Town; make an appropriation of money for the purpose; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating thereto.
ART. 31. To see if the Town will authorize the sale, con- veyance or other disposition of all or any part of a parcel of land located on Aberdeen Road Extension in said Town, or take any action relating thereto. Said parcel is bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the northerly side line of Aberdeen Road Extension, said point being on a curve with a radius of 39 feet, 33.06 feet from the intersection of said northerly side line of Aberdeen Road Extension and the westerly side line of Tanager Street; thence running N. 32 degrees, 24', 45" W. by land of Elizabeth McIver, 47.14 feet; thence running S. 45 degrees, 56', 15" W. 1820 feet to the said northerly side line of Aberdeen Road Extension; thence running S. 46 degrees 51', 45" E. on said side line of Aberdeen Road Extension 7.71 feet to a point of curve; thence running southeasterly on said side line of Aberdeen Road Extension on a curve to the left with a radius of 120.32 feet, 35.38 feet to a point of compound curve; thence continuing southeasterly on said side line of Aberdeen Road Extension on a curve to the left with a radius of 39 feet, 2.12 feet to the point of beginning, containing 504 square feet, all as shown on a plan on file at the office of the Town Engineer, Arlington, Mass., entitled "Plan of land in

ART. 32. To see if the Town will accept and establish as a town way, under the provisions of law authorizing the assess- ment of betterments, the private way known as Daniels Street, from Massachusetts Avenue to Appleton Street, as laid out by the Joint Board of Selectmen and Board of Public Works make an appropriation for the construction of said way, deter- mine in what manner the money shall be raised, or take any action thereon. Said way as laid out is described as follows:
Beginning at a stone bound at the intersection of the westerly side line of Daniel's Street and the northerly side line of Appleton Street, thence northeasterly on said westerly side line of Daniels Street 494.45 feet to the southerly side line of Massachusetts Avenue, thence southeasterly on said southerly side line of Massachusetts Avenue 40.45 feet to the easterly side line of Daniels Street, thence southwesterly on said easterly side line of Daniels Street 500.50 feet to the northerly side line of Appleton Street, thence northwesterly on said northerly side line of Appleton Street on a curve to the right with a radius of 422.40 feet, a distance of 20.35 feet to a stone bound at a point of tangency, thence continuing northwesterly on said northerly side line of Appleton Street 19.65 feet to the point of beginning as shown on a plan on file at the office of the Town Engineer, Arlington, Mass., and approved February 8, 1916, by the Board of Survey and entitled "Plan and Profile of Daniels Street, Arlington Heights, Mass., petitioned for by J. V. N. Hatfield et al, scale hor. 1 inch equals 40 feet, vert. 1 inch equals 6 feet, January, 1916, C. H. Gannett, C. E."
ART. 33. ART. 34. To see if the Town will vote to accept and estab- lish as a town way, under the provisions of law authorizing the assessment of betterments, the private way known as Gloucester Street, from Mt. Vernon Street to Highland Avenue, as laid out by the Joint Board of Selectmen and Board of Public Works, make an appropriation for the construction of said way, deter- mine in what manner the money shall be raised, or take any action thereon. Said way, as laid out, is described as follows:
Beginning at a stone bound at the intersection of the south- erly side line of Mt. Vernon Street and the easterly side line of Gloucester Street, thence southeasterly on said easterly side line of Gloucester Street 688.95 feet to the northerly side line of Highland Avenue, thence southwesterly on said northerly side line of Highland Avenue; 40.0 feet to the westerly side line of Gloucester Street, thence northwesterly on said westerly side line of Gloucester Street 688.78 feet to the southerly side line of Mt. Vernon Street; thence northeasterly on said southerly side line of Mt.
