Two changes in the library staff were made in 1949. Mrs. Ruth L. Anderson resigned from the staff in August, and Mrs. Elizabeth Brennan was elected to the staff in October.

The Librarian is most grateful to each member of the Board of Library Directors for the valuable contribution of each one in the varied problems of policy, planning, and execution of plans which have arisen during the past year.

1949 has seen solid achievements both in use of the library and in physical improvements. We hope that 1950 will offer even wider oppor- tunities for use of our Library's resources.

Respectfully submitted,

Katherine M. Kuechle, Librarian
